Hundreds of police, firefighters, paramedics and utility workers have been trained and recently dispatched as “Terrorism Liaison Officers” in Colorado, Arizona and California to watch for “suspicious activity” which is later fed into a secret government database.
According to a Denver Post report, “It’s a tactic intended to feed better data into terrorism early-warning systems and uncover intelligence that could help fight anti-U.S. forces. But the vague nature of the TLOs’ mission, and their focus on reporting both legal and illegal activity, has generated objections from privacy advocates and civil libertarians.
“Suspicious activity” is broadly defined in TLO training as behavior that could lead to terrorism: taking photos of no apparent aesthetic value, making measurements or notes, espousing extremist beliefs or conversing in code, according to a draft Department of Justice/Major Cities Chiefs Association document.”

“We don’t snoop into private citizens’ lives. We aren’t living in a communist state,” claims Lt. Tony Lopez, commander of Denver’s intelligence unit – but the program bears close parallels to the East German Stasi system, which at its height employed one informant for every seven citizens.
Democracy Now interviewed the Denver Post writer and an ACLU representative about the program.
It is also reminiscent of the supposedly canned 2002 Operation TIPS program, which would have turned 4 per cent of Americans into informants under the jurisdiction of the Justice Department.
TIPS lived on in other guises, such as the Highway Watch program, a $19 billion dollar Homeland Security-run project which trains truckers to watch for suspicious activity on America’s highways.
More recently, ABC News reported that “The FBI is taking cues from the CIA to recruit thousands of covert informants in the United States as part of a sprawling effort…..to aid with criminal investigations.”
Since authorities now define mundane activities like buying baby formula, beer, wearing Levi jeans, carrying identifying documents like a drivers license and traveling with women or children or mentioning the U.S. constitution as the behavior of potential terrorists, the bounty for the American Stasi to turn in political dissidents is sure to be too tempting to resist.
Indeed, last month Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers and the New York Times heartily celebrated the fact that an increasing number of Americans are becoming informants and turning in their neighbors and family members to the authorities in return for cash rewards.
Citing gas prices, foreclosure rates and runaway food price inflation, The Times lauded the fact that citizens are reporting on each other, ensuring “a substantial increase in Crime Stopper-related arrests and recovered property, as callers turn in neighbors, grandchildren or former boyfriends in exchange for a little cash.”
As any budding dictator will tell you, the creation of an informant society where individuals self-regulate their behavior in fear of being turned in by a citizen spy is one of the key stepping stones to tyranny. To have the media celebrate the fact that people are reporting on their neighbors and grandchildren puts the icing on the cake.

This is nothing new, this was being done before 2001. after 9/11 it got worse now its out in the open. It happened to me just walking by a anti-war protest. going to a restaurant in new york city. I have been in classes at college where the teachers have asked to google in our names and send the results(huh?) my friend were asked the same thing and didn’t think anything of it. Now realizing what I did back then would result in my name being put on one of these list is not so devastating.

Absolute rubbish! In keeping with Mr. Watson’s philosophy, any newspaper story can be labeled as “celebrating” whatever it’s about. Mr. Watson could claim that a newspaper article on serial killers “celebrated” the killer.

Whether its celebrated or not doesn’t make one iota of difference. This kind of social engineering is troubling because it has been proven time and time again as a key stepping stone to a police state. I believe we should start with those in positions of influence and power who have financed operations that support terror in all its forms. This would include poisoning our food, water and medicine, then terrorizing those who attempt to expose it.
What these informants don’t realize is that, they too could be nabbed for suspicious activity as the laws defining what that is become more inclusive. Say, complaining about inflation could in the future be seen as detrimental to the national morale, or expressing faith in God instead of the government could be viewed suspiciously. How about hugging your daughter, or young niece or nephew without a permit?

Those workers need to turn the system on itself… flood the database with reports of suspicious POLICE and HOMELAND SECURITY activity! – airport security guards who seem “suspicious”… inappropriate use of tasers (only a terrorist would do that!)… Homeland Security officials who are “acting funny” and need to be investigated… you get the idea – it’s called “MALIGNANT COMPLIANCE”!

Please go and read the Denver Post report folks, then you can develop a legitimate opinion for yourself. To much spin here Paul. To be fair the Post is trying (TRYING) to be unbiased. The way you have this article written is making it out like there was champagne and balloons about the implementation of TLO’s.
That being said Paul (you do EXCELLENT work), I applaud the attention being brought to this item of MAJOR concern. Unknown Informants Amongst Us. Ambiguous definitions of what they should be looking for. Yikes!!

If what they want are informants, perhaps we should all participate. First, seek out who works for various terrorist groups, such as the IRS/FBI/CIA/ATF/local oinksters etc. Second, find out something suspicious. Do they wear Levi’s? Do they carry a Driver’s license? Do they own a camera? Does your subject have a map in his car? Third, PHONE THEM IN! Help stop terrorism! Do your part!

This is also happening in Florida. The Brigh House Cable Network has been running commercials in the Tampa Bay area that their workers are now a ‘helpful set of eyes’ for neighborhood watch. This is another incremental step to the police state; following Hitlers model, whats next? Things are really bad, we have to expell all foreign troops from this nation, end the war to bring our Active troops and our National Guard back home where they have the muscle to help stop this thing before we end up on the infamous red and blue lists.

theominousparallels, yes it is the old nazi-formula; that can help us; they seem to be obsessed with using the same old means over and over,(false flag)ceremony(like the lizards) so that makes them predictable on certain levels;but we might have to be prepared for UFOs; they may have co-operated , secretly, with un-invited guests from the “Deep blue Sea” = the Universe. However, the rank-and-file of the Revolutionary soldiers and their families knew what THEY were fighting for, and that’s what they gave their lives to secure: liberty.
We are faced with exactly the same choice today that they faced. What will we do? Submit or resist? What’s it going to be? As Patrick Henry said in his speech to the Virginia House of Burgesses in 1776, “What is it gentlemen wish? What will they have? Are we to purchase peace at the price of chains and slavery? A Chemistry professor in a large college had exchange students in the
class.
One day in class, the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student)
who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told
him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting
communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his
country’s government and install a new communist government.
In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange
question. He asked, ‘Do you know how to catch wild pigs?’
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The
young man said this was no joke. ‘You catch wild pigs by finding a
suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pi gs find
it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to
coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they
are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the
corn again and you put up another side of the fence.
They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have
all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, who
are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam
the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have
lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they
are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to
it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so
they accept their captivity.
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees
happening to America .
The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the
free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax
credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments
not to plant crops , welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually
lose our freedoms – just a little at a time.
One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free Lunch! Also,
a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do
it yourself. Also, if you see that all of this wonderful government ‘help’
is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America , you might
want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is
essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email,
but God help you when t he gate slams shut!
In this ‘very important’ election year, listen closely to what the
candidates are promising you – just maybe you will be able to tell who is
about to slam the gate on America .

This goes to desso and everyone else who attacks socialism as the problem and praises capitalism as the answer: socialism and capitalism are economic policies, not governmental systems. Fascism and democracy are governmental systems by which economic policy is enforced. Given that most who read this can agree that the most crucial division that have been made in humanity is that between the rulers and the ruled, it is probably true to assume that the rulers prefer systems that maintain their power, while the ruled have always tried to reclaim what is rightfully theirs. In maintaining their power, they must maintain control over the economy. Socialism as an economic policy simply means that the fruits of any labor should be evenly divided up amongst the laborers, meaning no single entity could dominate the market and accumulate it’s own source of free labor. If done democratically, this system would be perfect for all parties involved (except those who would rather have slaves) because everyone involved would truly have an equal say in all decisions that impact their day to day lives. Since this system does not benefit the rulers, they have always managed to maintain control of socialist societies and the perception of socialism in the eyes of their slaves by controlling that society with a fascist dictatorship. They use capitalism as a means of maintaining their wealth and control over society because capitalism allows those at the top to enjoy the majority of the benefits that the working procure i.e. just another form of slavery. Capitalism is a way for the RICH to control the economy, something that would be impossible in a true socialist democracy where the economy is in the hands of EVERYONE and a truly free market exists. Capitalism is a tool that the elite are using on a democratic nation to maintain control of the masses. They feed you propaganda about socialism, but the real fear is that of tyranny. Socialism does not mean nobody works and the government takes care of them, it means everybody pitches in and does their share and no one person can CAPITALIZE on the work of those people. Socialism does not mean that you have nothing but the bare necessities, everyone is the same, and you are told what job you have to perform by the government (again, that would be fascism). In fact, a socialist market would look very similar to a capitalist market, but instead of having corporate big wigs meeting behind closed doors to decide on their multi-million dollar salary, you would have all workers involved in the company making that decision and the disparity in wealth might not be quite as high. You have been fed so much capitalist propaganda to believe that capitalism is democracy and socialism is fascism that you never bother to stop and question what all 4 of those terms actually mean, and how they relate to power structures and control in a society.

Know nothing. You make a very good point. I have been mentally struggling with the difference in concepts lately…
Like what nations call themselves… Democratic Republic of North Korea. People’s Republic of China and so on.
AT least the commies got the REPUBLIC part right in their country titles.
My quandary with these titles came about with my in depth reading of the book of Acts. When they all came together for the common good, that was Democracy, but it wasn’t Socialism. No one was buying or selling to dominate the other, and this was by their own choice, not a mandate. Those who know, remember the story of Ananias and Saphira (Acts 5)
Peters defining statement that proves the way they lived was democratic… “Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power?”
However the term socialism is the suspect term in your argument.
Until the common definitions of socialism exclude words like “collective” or “State-controlled” Then your argument will fall flat. Socialism as an economic policy still requires some form or hierarchy of control.
That is the one STARK difference for me and the “Acts Church.” Their was no “collectivism” just concern for your fellow man. There was no Government or Monetary mandate to sell what you had and care for others, people did it out of Love for their Fellow Co-worker in Union with Christ.

Unfortunately none of the common definitions of socialism agree. There is always some form of control. It isn’t a choice, it is a mandate. Awake: I definately understand what you’re saying about the LABEL of socialism, but the ideal behind it is that everyone does it willingly as you quoted from Acts. If people willingly agree to a society where that concern for your fellow man is always prevelant in every aspect of the day to day, then they would be doing it collectively, and as a whole they would make up the state. Those terms themselves have been subverted by authority, because the state can be good or bad, it just depends on how it’s defined and who’s in charge. As long as it’s not the goons vying for a new world order, we could have a global governance that was truly democratic, but even the term “governance” sounds bad. I honestly believe anarchy is the only term that truly describes what needs to happen because then all power would be usurped, we’d be forced to evolve, make a more perfect system, and help one another or go back to the stone age. I just think that the idealistic outcome would be the former, which if it’s done democratically and willingly would still be socialist in nature. For example, if you are living in a society where everyone does there part and pitches in, and everyone is getting taken care of, then state control is in the hands of the people. If someone isn’t pulling their share, then what they get from the community in return is diminished. Peoples value would be based on their actions and ideas rather than words.
