Vaccine Victim Desiree Jennings Viciously Attacked By Medical Establishment
Pharmaceutical industry apologists claim “hoax” despite disease being confirmed by several doctors

Former Redskins cheerleader Desiree Jennings, the woman who suffered a paralyzing neurological disorder after taking a flu shot, has come under ceaseless attack from the medical establishment as well as websites acting as apologists for the pharmaceutical industry, who claim that her entire illness is a hoax despite the fact that her condition has been confirmed as genuine by numerous doctors.
The inserts on flu vaccines clearly state that side-effects can include nervous system disorders, many which are treatable, but pro-vaccine cheerleaders are claiming the Jennings story is a hoax because she has made progress in recovering from her illness. The only hoax here is the one being peddled by these mouthpieces for the medical establishment, who are trying to deny the manfestly provable fact that neurological disorders are a potential side-effect of vaccines.
Jennings was a fit and healthy cheerleader up until August when she got a seasonal flu shot. Ten days after the shot she began experiencing flu like symptoms, followed by severe convulsions and black outs. After seeing around 60 doctors, Jennings was eventually diagnosed with dystonia, a paralyzing neurological disorder that causes the muscles to relentlessly contract and spasm, causing extreme difficulties with walking, talking and general body movements.
Despite the fact that doctors who vigorously examined her condition at both Fairfax Inova and Johns Hopkins confirmed that she was suffering from dystonia, and that the cause of the illness was her reaction to the flu shot, numerous apologists for big pharma have ludicrously claimed that her story is a hoax and that her disease is imaginary, citing no evidence whatsoever and having had no contact with Jennings at all.
The chief culprit in erroneously circulating rumors that Jennings’ condition was a “hoax” has to be “The Inquisitr” website, a tabloid gossip rag that in-between obsessing about the vacuous activities of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, also thinks it has the knowledge to dismiss medical conditions by watching You Tube videos. On October 22, the website carried the headline, Cheerleader Flu Shot Girl: Hoax or Real? The story mentions that Jennings’ condition had been diagnosed by several doctors as genuine, yet still implies that the story is a “hoax,” citing no proof whatsoever. The agenda behind this becomes clear when the website lambastes “anti-vaccination nutters” for merely highlighting the case.
Not content with savaging a young woman whose life was almost destroyed just once, The Inquisitr went back for a second helping, with a story on Monday claiming that Jennings is now “cured” and that, “The chances of the whole thing being a hoax just went from about 50% to pushing towards 100%.” This time around, the website didn’t even bother to mention the fact that numerous doctors at major medical establishments had personally diagnosed Jennings with neurological problems, instead they claimed that Jennings had merely “told the media” that she had the disease.
In addition, the claim that Jennings is “cured” is another contrivance. The latest footage of Desiree shows her in a chair hooked up to a drip. Jennings has made progress as a result of treatment provided by doctors in LA with the aid of Generation Rescue, the charity that helped Jenny McCarthy’s son recover from autism after a vaccine, but she is far from “cured”.

Blogger Mark Lorenz, writing on the Manolith website, viciously attacks Jennings for ‘faking’ her disease while again providing no proof at all that she faked it, failing to mention that doctors confirmed she had a disease, and failing to explain what possible benefit a young, healthy and happy cheerleader could get from wasting months of her life “feigning” a debilitating illness.
“But guess what? It was all fake,” he writes. “Yes, fake. All of the hemming and hawwing and talk over how vaccines are terrible and need to be tested more, mostly from the same people who say no food is safe to eat but raw food, and LOOK AT MY HYBRID CAR — their poster girl is fake. Sorry if I seem contemptuous, but I have no sympathy for people who go on national TV feigning illnesses and blaming them on a source that might actually do some good in the world.”
The aggressive zeal with which these bloggers have ceaselessly attacked a diseased young woman is stunning to behold, but they seem to be borrowing most of their cockamamie talking points from Dr. David Gorski, labeled “the bitchy diva of Scienceblogs,” by Age of Autism writer J.B. Handley.
In his article today, Handley exposes how Gorski, who has been on the warpath attempting to smear and discredit the “anti-vaccine movement,” has seized upon the Jennings story with wanton abandon in an effort to rebuild the credibility of vaccines that are being rejected in accelerating numbers across America due to concerns about side-effects and dangerous additives like mercury and squalene.
Handley chastises Gorski’s “angry, disrespectful, biting, caustic, and immature approach” in his efforts to counter the Desiree Jennings case. The main body of his article is reprinted below.
The Desiree Jennings case appears to be bringing out the absolute worst in many of the bloggers who oppose our community. As one example, I read a post by Dr. Steven Novella where he “reported” on a string of events involving Generation Rescue and the Desiree Jennings case that had no basis in reality and was simply false. We have neurologists breaking tabloid-level stories? Dr. Novella as investigative journalist? Too funny.
In no particular order, the Desiree Jennings case appears to be causing doctors to break all sorts of medical ethical boundaries including:
- Challenging Ms. Jennings’ original diagnosis of dystonia. Since when do doctors make long-distance video-only diagnoses? Don’t these doctors realize, by offering up potentially false commentary on the nature of Ms. Jennings diagnosis in a story that has captivated the world, that they will one day be called to task for such a glaring breach of medical ethics?
- Claiming Ms. Jennings condition is all in her head. For parents of children with autism, this one has a familiar ring. How on earth do Doctors like Gorski and Novella dare throw out a psychological diagnosis on a patient they have never examined? Thank God she found a doctor who knew it was all in her body.
- Claiming the flu shot couldn’t possibly cause her condition. Once again, how on earth does a long-distance doctor determine this? Vaccines cause a wide variety of side-effects, but Ms. Jennings’ condition just couldn’t be vaccine-induced? To hell with what doctors who did examine her actually determined, we are the only arbiters of truth. It’s nuts.
- Claiming she couldn’t possibly recover from a condition she didn’t even have. Forget the HBOT, chelation, B-12, vitamins, etc., Ms. Jennings couldn’t possibly recover, much like our kids never do, either.
It’s great to watch these “doctors” dig themselves into a bigger and bigger hole. I’m not sure doctors like David Gorski realizes how silly their comments look to the average American and how much they have exposed themselves as the true story of what Desiree went through emerges. Thank you, Orac, for showing the world your true colors, because the world is most certainly watching.
The desperation with which apologists for the vaccine industry have gone about trying to savage the credibility of the Desiree Jennings case illustrates how damaging the story has been to the pharmaceutical lobby and their floundering agenda to coerce as many people as possible into taking their dangerous swine flu shot.
The Jennings case, allied to the story out of Germany about how elitists were given access to a special version of the vaccine that didn’t contain additives but was not available to the general public, has undoubtedly contributed to the mass resistance to the H1N1 shot that continues to build across Europe, Canada and North America.
No amount of callous back-biting, gnashing of teeth, and contrived smear attempts on behalf of the vaccine lobby and their media apologists can now stop that momentum. The word is out – people know what’s in your vaccines and there’s no way to reverse that revelation.

There tons of countries that are allready what the states is supposed to be but youve been trained to think that the states is the only place with free speech, the only one with good health care, the only place with good people. I was living in central America before you, for 2 years in cilivan housing in Belize and have often thought of returning. I was a engineer and helped to construct a steel and concrete bridge 38 feet in the air and 148 feet long. humanitarian mission all the way. I was an AIRBORNE RANGER, have five MOS. I had decided that I wasn’t going to support or promote any of these corporations ambitions. so I needed a income stream and I started a manufacturing and distribution company offering US MADE MOTORCYCLE parts. Within two years we were doing a MILLION dollars a year in sales and had two shifts working.I had 8 CNCs and 2 turning centers running 18-20hrs a day. I sold the machine shop 2 years ago, was Johnny on the spot with this move. I have been buying silver since it was 3.50 an oz and I probably have more silver than you weigh. So as you see, we do share some common experiences. The FDA removed thimerosal from childhood vaccines in the US in 1997, as a precautionary measure, partly in response to all the anti-vaccine activism. Autism diagnoses continued to rise unabated. Denmark and Sweden eliminated thimerosal five years earlier. Their rates also continued to climb.
Let’s repeat that, since apparently it’s not clear to Kennedy and the other activists still warning against vaccination. Ethylmercury-containing thimerosal was removed from childhood vaccines in 1997. Vaccination will not result in mercury poisoning.
Vaccinations save more lives worldwide than any other medical advance in history. Thanks to vaccination, children around the world are now safe from hepatitis A and B, polio, smallpox, measles, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, rotavirus, mumps, typhoid, and many more. Giving up all of these immunities, due only to an unfounded fear of a compound that’s no longer used and was demonstrated safe in every rigorous study ever done, is hardly the best way to serve your child. Exposing an already-vaccinated child to the dangers of chelation in a misguided effort to remove undetected poisons is just as bad. Vaccinate your children. Don’t put them or yourself through the risks of chelation therapy, unless of course your job at Three-Mile Island was to drink all the leaked cooling water.

Proponents of the alleged link between vaccines and autism charge that vaccines contain mercury, which in large enough doses, kills cells and causes neurological damage. What some vaccines contain is actually not plain mercury, but the preservative thimerosal. Thimerosal’s main active ingredient is an organic version of mercury called ethylmercury. Ethylmercury is naturally expelled from the body quickly. Methylmercury, on the other hand, is not. It stays in the body. High doses of methylmercury will cause physiological damage. However, ethylmercury and methylmercury are not the same thing, despite the similar names. Methylmercury is not present in thimerosal. In short, vaccines preserved with thimerosal do not even contain the type of mercury that activists say is dangerous. And even if they did, the amount would be too small to be considered a risk.

As is easily verifiable, thimersol was not removed from vaccines in 1997 as you claim.
Even later, around 2001 I believe, after a CDC epidemiologist reported a link between childhood vaccinations and various neurologic disorders to include autism did the government ask pharmaceutical companies, 2002 or 2003, to voluntarily remove thimerosol, however they were allowed to sell the stock they had on hand so it remained in childhood vaccines for a number of more years. As has been reported on this site the rate of autism did begin declining as thimersol was removed. Now, however, with the potential for influenza and swine flu vaccines, which in many cases again contain thimersol, to be given yearly from infancy onwards the total cumulative exposure to injected mercury may be higher than ever. Even if you are convinced that thimerosol does not cause autism, this preservative was banned from animal vaccines decades ago on safety grounds, why aren’t children afforded the same protection?

It’s impossible to have recovered in the hours that she did if she was in fact suffering from this disorder. It’s more likely this is a psychogenic movement disorder which is not saying she is faking it, it’s not been done on purpose.
That would explain how the anti-vaccine movement that jumped on this so quickly was able to ‘cure’ this within hours by a Dr that uses urine therapy.

This year alone they added the swine flu shot to the regular flu shot for children and were wanting to add a second dose of swine flu shot…all which contain Thymerisol in it’s highest vaccine dosage.
Mitochondrial damage from vaccination has just been shown in the three autism cases to reach the supreme court. Numerous studies have been done on thymerisol (not done by the big pharmacies who you can’t trust for accurate information). Just recently a baby monkey study was done showing that vaccines with thymerisol disabled baby monkeys! Get your head on and look outside the box! Or, are you the box? I was suspicious as soon as I saw the initial news video. I do not doubt that the various ingredients in vaccinations may cause immediate reactions and reactions/disorders that appear much later in life. However, haven studied and worked with individuals with movement disorders, viewing Ms. Jennings story and her movement behavior was very unconvincing. Folks need to be careful when supporting a cause or individuals wholeheartedly without knowing certain facts or having at least a little discernment. In the end, I believe this will turn out to be a hoax. If so, arguments/movement against vaccinations will be discredited.

Im Canadian. I waited to hear my Docs opinion before i made up mind on vaccine. He said he checked it out thoroughly as hes is a skeptic at heart too. He said he learned the vaccine they are giving Canucks has been administered millions of times in Europe with no large flags going up. He said he would recommend i have one only because i have had a minor heart attack in the past. He said he wouldnt recommend it if my health history was better. He has been my friend and Doc for 35 years so i trust him implicitly on his word. However, im still holding back and reserving my personal judgement on it. He said the Canadian version is much safer then the US version.
I know many people who have had the shot and none of them have had a reaction yet. Its a tough call. Nice to have a choice still. Ill probably telll them to go screw themselves if they try and force it on me just on principal anyways.

You ever wonder why it is that everytime some talks about a comspiracy they get slammed as a nut job, but when the likes of Bill Clinton cry about a conspiracy from the right it gets published on national television???
I really don’t think that the Repubs are much different. Geroge GW Bush enacted firearms laws that drove the priceof firearms up and stopped importation. This even includes guns that were origionally were manufactured here. His boy, King George II, pushed sweeping legislation that calls true patriots terrorists. Anyone who strikes out against this scum will be labeled a terrorist. What ever happened to the strict construction of the Constitution??? Read Federalist Paper #84, “…what is not written in the Constitution to do there is no power to do”, Hamilton. Hell what is written they are not to do they do anyway.

I refuse to take any vaccinations for the various reasons listed here and elsewhere. I agree with some of what is listed in the replies to the above article. For instance I do not dispute what Dr. Moulden states in the preceding. However, haven worked in rehabilitation in the past as a Physical Therapist, and having studied and observed normal and abnormal human movement, and haven observed Ms. Jennings movement, my immediate feeling after viewing the initial news video was that whatever diagnosis/label that was assigned to Ms. Jennings and the assertions she was making, left me unconvinced that she actually suffered any ill-effects from anything she may have taken or consumed.
I am not an expert on movement disorders, but the diagnosis Dystonia sounds very vague and “garbage can” and likely used for a lack of a better diagnosis, or anything more definitive. The diagnosis itself does not confirm anything through radiology or lab tests, etc. That diagnosis appears to simply describe her movement disorder, which to me is very subjective. I am not a betting man, but when it is all said and done, it will not surprise me that this whole ordeal was in fact a hoax. Those who support her unequivacally, need to so so with a little more caution. If in fact she does prove to be a hoax, it certainly will not help the cause of those who are opposed to mandatory vaccinations or otherwise. Reccall when Al Sharpton unequivally supported the gal (Deseree___)up in Maryland several years back, and it was later proven that her allegations (whatever they were) proved to be fabricated? When that happens, all credibility is lost.

First, it was the Thimerisol/Mercury in vaccines causing autism.

So, Jenny McCarthy convinced some mommies not to vaccinate their children. The rate of autism in those children?
Exactly the same as the kids who got their Measles Mumps and Rubella vaccines and all others.

Over a hundred times higher than vaccinated kids. Some of the unvaccinated kids die. Total death rate of unvaccinated kids? Higher.
