The evidence for this is overwhelming, my friend. The Catholic Church was the number one enemy of the Communists, so they decided to do their best to destroy the Faith. Communist agents, enemies of the Church, infiltrated Catholic seminaries decades ago by the hundreds with the goal of advancing in the Church and ultimately to make the Church virtually unrecognizable. They have succeeded in large part, as particularly since Vatican 2 all kinds of modernist error and heresy has been widely embraced and promoted by priests and bishops, and even the Popes since the time of Vatican 2. The Popes are not infallible in their personal opinions and actions, so it is possible for them to be material heretics and yet not formal heretics. As much as there is to criticize about Pope Paul VI, Pope John Paul ll and Pope Benedict XVI, I do not see proof as of yet that they were or are formal heretics. I give them the benefit of a doubt until a future Pope or Council declares otherwise, or until heresy is formally taught by the Pope in a manner binding on the faithful. So, while they may not be anti-popes, their errors in judgement need to be strongly resisted and made known. This is what the Society of St. Pius X has done. They have preserved the Traditional Mass, Sacraments, and teachings of the Church just as they received them before the devastation to the Faith caused by the liturgical reforms following the Second Vatican Council. Make no mistake, the enemies of the Church have used Vatican 2 to their advantage to almost destroy the Faith. However, the gates of Hell shall not prevail over what our Lord has established. The Crisis of Faith in the Church is huge, but there are faithful remnants everywhere who have preserved the Faith and continue to transmit it, and will continue to do so until God restores all things in Christ.
