Vatican official: Gaza is now a ‘concentration camp’

THE Gaza Strip has been turned into a “concentration camp” by two weeks of Israeli bombardments, said a senior Vatican official.
Cardinal Renato Martino, the Vatican’s justice and peace minister, was quoted by the online Italian daily Il Sussidiario.
“Let’s look at the conditions in Gaza: these increasingly resemble a big concentration camp,” said Cardinal Martino.

Cardinal Martino said it was in neither parties interest to carry on fighting and urged both to show more willingness to hold peace talks.
“If they can’t come to an agreement, then someone else should do it (for them). The world cannot sit back and watch without doing anything.
“We Christians are not the only ones to call this land ‘holy’, Jews and Muslims do so too. The fact that this land is the scene of bloodshed seems a great tragedy,” he added.

I can’t put much stock into comments from an official who is a high-ranking member of a organization (the Roman Catholic Church), that is far from innocent and has a track record of major abuses and criminal activity itself.
That being said, equating Gaza with a concentration camp is fairly accurate given the geographically, political, social and logistical constraints imposed on that region. Like a concentration camp, the people inside Gaza are severely limited in their ability to exit and enter the region when they please. Gaza is surrounded by hostile military forces and, with few exceptions, has an extremely difficult task in defending itself and resupplying its’ people with even the basic necessities to sustain life.
Like victims in a concentration camp, the very life of the people of Gaza is in the hands of the occupying power (Israel), who at any time and for any reason, or no reason for that matter, can end such life or put that life in serious jeopardy. Like concentration camp victims, small forces with minimal resources make efforts to resist and revolt against such conditions and like concentration camp victims are consistently beat down and must regroup to try again.
It is ironic to say the least that in this particular instance it is Jews who are the oppressors. One would have thought that recent history would have made many, if not most, of these Jews feel a personal connection with the suffering of the people of Gaza. Do you remember the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943? or, the breakout of the Sobibor Concentration Camp in 1944?
Although both attempts at resisting their oppressors ultimately failed, the largely Jewish-inspired revolts did succeed in sending a message out to the Nazis – that some of us, at least, will not go to our deaths like sheep. There were also other, smaller instances of resistance throughout Europe during the war, both Jewish and Gentile.
I know that some may be incensed at connecting the events in Gaza with the events in Europe but in both cases those that resisted, and still resist, made a committment to do anything and kill anyone who stood in their way, including civilians. Such was the desperation and horror they suffered.
Now fast forward to Gaza, present day. The shoe, as they say, is on the other foot. It is Israeli tyranny being imposed on a largely civilian population, hemmed in on all sides by sea, air and ground forces. Enemy forces invade their “camp” at will. Destroy whatever they choose to destroy and kill whoever they choose to kill. To add insult to injury, unlike the perseuted Jews of Europe during WW2, there are no allied armies coming to the rescue. No military force is applying pressure on Israel fom the outside.
The “assistance” received amounts to little more than proclamations and puffed up speeches of opposition, vague discussions of ceasefires, useless messages of support and empty threats that will never be carried out. In short, Israel is free to do whatever, whenever and however it chooses. Please tell me, those that support Israel, what else can the people of Gaza do, but resist and kill anyone they can, whenever the opportunity presents itself, which is rare? Do you believe, given the circumstances I have just discussed, they should simply give up and place their trust in the hands of a people (Israelis), who, by their actions now and in the past, have never earned that trust?
I know some of you will reply to this post with arguments that I have made unfair comparisons. That the Palestinians are not victims and the Israelis are merely defending themselves. I ask you, are your arguments anymore valid then the ones used by the Nazis when they claimed that even unarmed Jewish men, women and children were a threat? Does your general disgust and demeaning view of Palestinians make it easier to kill them? It certainly made it easier for the Nazis when they labelled the Jews as “subhuman”, (untermensch).
Not all Jews support Israel and not all Israelis are Jews, but Israel is a “Jewsih State” and criticism of its’ actions will naturally bring about a general criticism of Jews. This should not be mistaken for “anti-semetism”, a word that is often misused and incorrectly applied. Similar policies practiced by other peoples would also bring about a general criticism of those people as well. It is not always fair but it is to be expected.
If there is any chance of a fair and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians it can only be possible if the existing Israeli political and military leadership is replaced by men and women who truly desire it and this process must be overseen by an international force, both civilian and military, that is permitted to be physically present in both Palestinian and Israeli territory. Since both sides have shown that neither can be fully trusted to adhere to such a peace.

Yes, there are some 6-7 billion people here on our world, and only a very small percentage are of the deceptive and evil zionist filth variety! I am not Israeli or Palestinian, but I am appauled at what zionist Israel has been doing to the Palestinian civilians! The problem is clear: the illegal occupation and seizure of Palestine. The solution must be one that can peacefully resolve their conflict such as allowing all those $$$$ to be rerouted in the peaceful establishment of an independent Palestine country whereby half of Israeli land given back to the rightful heirs, the Palestinians, and ongoing peaceful dialogues encouraged–of course this is utter fantasy and Israel has proven to be deceitful and untrustworthy, but this fantasy has potential and offers stability in that area of the world. Why must BIG MONEY be wasted on such wars, when such MONEY could easily be rerouted to maintain peace, which is of greater benefit to we the citizens of this world? Jerusalem is translated as the city of peace, but one could hardly say that city is peaceful in present times–more like city of deception.

Well, right now, Sarah, that’s white a few billion people, so just how do you plan to do it=
Have you got enough gas stockpiled up in the mud hut where you live like your grandfather did in a Russia Shekel? Can you read the instructions how to use the gas?
Then, you have to get all those billions into chambers. The chambers would need to be pretty big – like 1000 miles by 1000 miles. If each Israeli works on the extermination of anyone who hates Israel in concentration camps, then every Israeli would have to kill about 100000 times as many people.
Figuring they can kill 100 a day – you’ve got to transport us to the camp, refill the gas capsules, that would be about a 1000 days or 3 year work day and night.
Then you have to dispose of all the corpses. Have you figured out where to bury them, Sarah?
You might not believe in God or Hell, Sarah, but ants don’t believe in it either. Cats don’t believe in it. Dogs don’t believe in it. Donkeys don’t believe in it. That doesn’t mean God and Hell don’t exist.
To perceive spiritual things, you need to be spiritually advanced. I bet you haven’t heard of Nietzsche have you? and yet you sound just like him and his philosophy has been criticised and torn apart by other philosophers.
