With all of the talk of gun bans, gun control, ammunition taxes and restrictive new firearms licensing and other requirements going on in the nation’s capital and other urban centers in the wake of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, at least one shooting expert thinks we have reason to be optimistic.

Writing in a blog on WilsonCombat.com, a firearms and gun gear retailer, longtime firearms instructor and former Special Operations soldier Paul R. Howe thinks American cop, soldier or federal agent foolish enough to blindly follow any order to round up guns would quickly be erased from the “gene pool.”

In a thoughtful, powerful post, Howe laid out what actions he believed people he has worked with and known for some time would – and, more importantly, would not, do if the order to confiscate firearms is ever issued from on high.

‘We are the UN’

For one, he does not believe a United Nations force would be assembled and turned loose in the United States to round up an estimated 250-300 million privately held firearms currently residing in some 80 million households.

“We are the UN,” Howe writes. “Other countries mostly join the U.N. to secure money, funding and training and few have any offensive combat capability. Most serve as guards at static locations and have no will to fight. America is the enforcement arm of the U.N. We have the money, equipment, personnel and lift platforms to get the job done.”

Forget political suicide; any president who authorized a foreign force to deploy on American soil with the sole intention of denying citizens a constitutional right would see that force, no matter what its size and armament, destroyed in short order. “Our government would break down and the president would be ousted for letting foreign militaries invade our country,” he says.

Howe goes onto confirm what Natural News editor Mike Adams reported, using his own military and law enforcement sources, recently reported – that most police and military personnel won’t follow an order to confiscate firearms, and that many would view it as a “suicide mission.” [http://www.naturalnews.com]

“Having served over 20 years in our military, I know that most soldiers would refuse the order to take part in the confiscation of weapons,” Howe says. “First, the president would have to give the order, which is an ‘Illegal Order’ in violation of the Constitution. I don’t believe that service members would go back into the communities that raised them and conduct raids on good Americans in violation of the Constitution.”

As for federal agencies, Howe levels some of his harshest commentary. The central government, he says, isn’t “large enough or talented enough” to conduct widespread gun confiscation raids.

Oh, he says, they’d conduct a few and would likely confiscate some firearms, but the sheer volume of households and guns in private hands would make such a task physically and logistically impossible – not to mention extremely unpopular.

“After the first few raids, the word would get out and Americans would start to fight back. It would take one good ambush from a house or along a travel route to decimate a tactical force or make it combat ineffective,” says Howe.

Contact your local officials now

Plus, the agents would be operating out of a central location within a city, he noted. And, they and their families would live among many of the Americans whose guns they would be tasked with confiscating:

If they were to start raiding houses, kicking in doors and breaking in windows looking for legally owned guns, their homes would be subject to the same treatment by Americans rising up to defend themselves. They would shortly find themselves without a place to live.

Finally, there is nothing that says every governor in the country would even order state law enforcement officials and National Guard troops to comply with such an illegal order.

“In every law enforcement, government and military agency or branch, there are a small number of Kool-Aid drinkers who would blindly follow orders,” Howe writes. But, he says, “they would either be purged internally by their co-workers or people they attacked would stop their gene pool.”

Howe offers some common sense advice as well.

“Write your state representatives and let them know how you feel about this issue. I would like to think that most states would refuse the order,” he wrote. “Next, at the local level, talk to your Sheriff or Chief of Police and ask them if they would allow or support the federal government in their confiscation of firearms. Put them on the spot now and hold them accountable.”
