Video shows cop choking marijuana suspect

WKRN News 2 reports that “the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating after video shot from inside a Mount Joliet patrol car shows an officer choking a suspect.”
In the video, the officer has both hands around the neck of the suspect and is telling him to “stick your tongue out.” The suspect, James Anders, then passes out.
According to WKRN, “The incident began with a traffic stop. Officer Cosby said he smelled burning marijuana, ordered Anders out of the car and told him to spit out something he had in his mouth. … Cosby didn’t find any marijuana in Anders’ mouth but did find a small bag of the drug inside his car.”

Anders was arrested on charges of possessing marijuana, resisting arrest, and tampering with evidence. The charges were later dismissed because of the police officer’s behavior. Cosby was reprimanded and the tape was handed over to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

We need to organize marches on local police departments….Marches on Washington are great…but very difficult to plan and execute….
When these things happen we need citizens to show up outside of the Police Headquarters and demand an end to this shocking behaviour.
You know….think globally act locally kind of thing…..

i live in tennessee, and this is only one of many fucked up situations where cops hurt or kill someone to “protect them” like the guy in my home town that was tazed until he had a heart attack in his yard because he was on mushrooms…and “acting strange.”…or search “operation tarnished shield” or the guy they planted pot on a few months back ON CAMERA ….fucking pathetic …anything to get you into the system.

Pay close attention to what this guy was actually charged with..
He was charged with “RESISTING ARREST and TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE”. Okay, well how did they guy RESIST arrest when he was handcuffed and then CHOKED OUT. NOTHING was found in his mouth so how can they say he TAMPERED WITH EVIDENCE?
This just proves that these cops are a PACK OF LIARS!!!!
But of course NOTHING more will happen to this THUG of a cop.
If I was that guy I would file ASSAULT charges against the cop as well as filing FRAUDULANT charges to bolster his case.

I hope that kid sues the shit out of that “officer.” WTF? I know from my training in the army that that pressure that jackass was putting on the kid’s “vascular” area cut off blood flow to his head which caused his collapse, not lack of air flow. That shit head cop could have caused brain damage if he held it long enough, and death! What country are we living in again?

What the hell happened to this country? i have two cops in my family and I skip the reunions because the assholes don’t have an off switch. Picking on people smoking or growing flowers while the government directs committing the worst atrocities in the civilized world is fucked. To quote Jon Stewart “I feel like someone opened up the top of my head and shit in it.” But that was when the attorneys being fired was before a congressional committee. I feel it evenly applies to the last eight years, perhaps our whole lives.

If you think this was an act of brutality, a few weeks ago a MILAN, TENN COP allegedly found weed on the person of JERMAINE WARD and promptly TASERED him to DEATH. I sent the article to Jones but I suppose the death of black men still isn’t very important or shocking.

people who smoke marijuana are not violent. The only reason Marijuana is illegal is because powerful people in the tobacco and fiber industry fought a demonizing campaign against it.
Remember Tobacco is the governments cash crop. Nicotine is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE where as Tetrahydracannibinol (THC) the active ingredient in Marijuana ISNT ADDICTIVE.
Marijuana resin makes better fuel than oil. Hemp fibers are stronger than Steel, or anything DU Pont Can Make. Du Pont was also one of those companies who fought an anti marijuana campaign, fearing hemp fibers would cause the company to lose money.
If we made paper from Hemp, we wouldnt need to deforestate acres of trees.
Our forefathers Washington Jefferson and Ben Franklin ALL Smoked Marijuana.

You never can tell what going on. I came home to smell dope in the air, a cop driving the other way stops backs up and walks over to a 20 y.o. sitting on the curb. I look down the street and now the kids in handcuffs, pockets searched. Next day I talk to him, he wasn’t smoking, didn’t have any dope on him and got let go. Since when is smelling dope in the air probable cause for searching you?? If he saw him smoking and toss it, O.K. but handcuffed and searched. Why didn’t he go door to door?? Cause he can’t, but he can harrass a guy sitting there.
