They don't appear to be mudslingers hired by the US propaganda system, but that was the first impression I got.. Regarding the article, a globally networked intelligence agency with no openness or accountability or control by democratic rule is basically the first (and most important) step towards a global dictatorship. Even if it was democratically controlled, it would be a too great risk, because democracies can unravel into dictatorships quite easily, as history demonstrates.
