Fact: All history reveals that time after time this planet of ours has experienced periods of warming and periods of cooling. A century of slight global warming, about half a degree, ended in 1998.
Fact: In this century a global cooling has set in. In 2008 most of the northern hemisphere, except for Western Europe, is coming out of what most scientists say has been the harshest winter in decades.
Malta, Israel, China and India’s New Delhi have been subjected to record low temperatures. In Afghanistan, more than 900 people and 316,000 head of cattle died as a result of bitter cold weather according to Reuters.

In a letter to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon 13 top scientists including one Nobel Prize winner, pointed to the fact that while CO2 levels have continued to rise, global temperatures have fallen, dramatically contradicting the claim that CO2 levels cause global warming. They wrote that the UN Climate change Panel “must be called to account and cease its deceptive practices – Policies based on False science must be ended.”
Meteorologist Anthony Watts says that the total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C — a value large enough, he says, to erase nearly all the global warming recorded over the past 100 years.
In a news conference held in Orlando, Florida John L. Casey, Director of the Space and Science Research Center, issued a landmark declaration on climate change.
“In an opinion echoed by many scientists around the world, the Space and Science Research Center (SSRC), today declares that the world’s climate warming of the past decades has now come to an end. A new climate era has already started that is bringing predominantly colder global temperatures for many years into the future. In some years this new climate will create dangerously cold weather with significant ill-effects world wide. Global warming is over – a new cold climate has begun.”

The level of activity on the Sun will significantly diminish sometime in the next decade and remain low for about 20 – 30 years,” said Ian Wilson, lead author of a study appearing in the June issue of PASA, Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia.
The result is a strong, rapid pulse of global cooling, said Wilson. “On each occasion that the Sun has done this in the past the World’s mean temperature has dropped by 1 – 2 C.”
“A 2 C drop would be twice as large as all the warming the earth has experienced since the start of the industrial era, and would be significant enough to impact global agriculture output.”
Got it? Global warming, such as it was, is over. Done with. Kaput.
That however, had failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the global warming fear mongers. It has, instead, fueled a spate of often ludicrous claims of an impending planetary disaster due to alleged global warming. As meteorologist and Weather Channel founder John Coleman has said all the proponents of global warming can do is to lamely suggest that global warming has gone on vacation and is taking a ten-year hiatus on account of the absence of sun spots. “If this weren’t so serious it would be laughable” Coleman said.
“It is the greatest scam in history, he said. “I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global warming; it is a scam. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create in allusion (sic) of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environment whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the “research” to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon, they claimed to be a consensus.”
Yet the beat goes on, and gets more ludicrous with one member of Congress actually telling a bunch of kids that global warming caused Hurricane Katrina and led to the deaths of Americans in the Blackhawk Down espoused in Somalia. He forgot to mention it also causes tooth decay, body odor and underarm perspiration.
Global warming is clearly over, yet Al Gore and his acolytes keep warning us that the planet is heating up even as it continues to get colder.
One definition of insanity is the compulsion to make the same mistake over and over again all the while expecting a different and successful outcome.
If that suggests that Al Gore and his fellow global warming fantasitists are nuts, well …….

I live in the northeastern US and we certainly did not have a harsh 2008 winter. I agree that the earth has experienced periods of warming in its past but these periods were experienced before we had huge populations along our coastlines. The sea level was at least 20′ higher during these warming periods than it is currently. Co2 levels directly corresponded with temperature change. I think the issue here is that we are accelerating a natural phenomenon.

Humans are only responsible for 2% of warming, what do you wanna do with the other 98%, blot out the SUN??? Plants gorw rapidly in an advanced CO2 enviroment. Why are we rushing to cap plant growth? Carbon dioxide and Carbon MONoxide are NOT the same thing. Look it up for chrissakes!!! One is pollution (which isn’t regulated by this scam) the other promotes accellerated plant growth and vegetation. I think the fear mongers needs to do some homework before thy begin banning, what we need to sustain life on this earth.

i love the hypocrisy. its a little bit like that Twilight Zone episode where a woman has a dream that the Earth is rotation towards the Earth and getting hotter and hotter. But when she wakes up, she finds out the that opposite is actually true. The Earth is rotating away from the sun and getting cooler and cooler. I think its a good metaphor for this situation.

the article is filled with total lies. To begin with, we happen to be in the time of the cycle of sun spots minimum. That is why there are no sun spots at all on the Sun. there is a cycle of 11 years. We just had the maximum several years ago and now we are right in the middle of no spots time period.
There is NO way that Ian Wilson can tell me what will happen on the Sun surface’s in the next 20 to 30 years from now. He is totally speculating. Sure we did have a harsh winter but one harsh winter following many mild winters doesn’t prove anything. Let’s wait a ferw more winters and then we can say for sure that what, we have had a few colder than normal winter in a row.
and so on. I dont really have the time to waste pointing out the rest of the garbage this “article” is filled with.

Since 2005, I have been predicting that peak sunspot numbers for solar cycles 25 and 26 will be dramatically lower than normal. I was not sure about solar cycle 24.
Recently, it has become obvious that solar cycle 24 will not peak until 2012 at the earliest. Axccording to my prediction method this means that it to will be dramatically lower in peak sunspot number.
I had the guts to take my simple model and use it to predict future solar activiity.
At this point in time (February 2009), the are no sunpots on the Sun’s surface and it looks as though solar cycle 24 is going to be a fizzer. In other words, my prediction has in fact come true. Not bad for a piece of “garbage”.

A few decades ago Carl Sagan and other scientists promoted the concept of a deadly global “Nuclear Winter” caused by world-wide smoke clouds following a local or global nuclear war.
Science has not clearly determined what quantity and what mixture of smoke would cause a ‘tipping point’ from a smoke cloud that causes warming to a smoke cloud that causes cooling. Whether a smoke cloud will increase warming or cooling depends on the density and composition of the smoke cloud, which is a complex issue that resists scientific efforts to accurately model or predict.

During the 1970s climate scientists announced that the earth was on the verge of entering a new Ice Age. That prediction was based on various forms of data that reveal the past history of a recurrent Ice Age cycle, which most climate scientists agree is caused by cyclic changes in the earth’s tilt and its orbit of the sun. It is important to understand that no new evidence or new interpretation of the data has altered the fact that the data indicates that the earth is on the verge of a return to Ice Age conditions.
Data collected from the Vostok (Greenland) ice cores during the late 1990s support the theory that the earth is on the verge of a return to Ice Age conditions. (See the Link below.) Previous Ice Age global maximums occured about 110,000 years ago, about 220,000 years ago, and about 320,000 years ago.

The Vostok ice core data also demonstrates that the rise and fall of global CO2 FOLLOWS the rise and fall of global temperatures, which demonstrates that CO2 does not CAUSE the rise and fall of global temperatures.
The Vostok data show that about 325,000 years ago global temperatures and CO2 peaked at levels that are higher than they are today. Polar bears survived that event; they did not go extinct.
The Vostok ice core data also shows us that the current ‘Global
Warming’ is simply the ‘last hurrah’ of a warm interglacial period that occurs between each Ice Age.
‘Global Warming’ has never prevented the annual onset of winter
anywhere in the world, and therefore we should not expect ‘Global Warming’ to prevent the onset of the next Ice Age.
Here’s what I have to say about ‘Global Warming’: enjoy it while you can, because the onset of the next Ice Age is fast approaching, and during the Ice Age our descendants will speak with nostalgia about ‘Global Warming’.

The main issue is that no one really knows how human input affects climate change. It is all based on computer models of a global weather system we are just beginning to understand.

In Friday Harbor where I live, it’s cold for July. If the planet is heating up, that’s news to us. I think we’re on a cooling trend now and won’t know for a couple of years. Al Gore needs to shut-up and retreat to where he was after the 2000 election.

Jesus, when will these idiots get the point that it is CLIMATE CHANGE not simply warming. The global warming that has occurred has profound affects on climate including COOLING. As the environment tries to find a new equilibrium, it swings back and forth from one extreme to the next.
One year record heat waves, next year record cold snaps, stronger storms or deeper droughts.
“Global Warming” is, in this instance, almost a misnomer. Until a new equilibrium settles in, global warming can cause any number of variations in climate patterns.
By the way, it wasn’t long ago that fools like this author was saying that warming was due to increased Sun output. When it turned out the exact opposite was happening they quickly dropped it and started saying things like “Got it? Global warming, such as it was, is over. Done with. Kaput.”
Of course when this fool said that, he said it right after this quote:

So it’s over is it? Or is it just delayed long enough that when the Sun returns to its normal patterns we will be in VERY DEEP TROUBLE.
Trust fools like this not to care about the future. As long as HE is happy, f**k future generations.
