White House Blocks Opposition From Staged Obama Town Hall Event
Phony meeting will see President take scripted questions while Secret Service watches protesters outside, but liberal commentators who slammed Bush for doing the same are noticeably silent

In an effort to protect the the saintly image of Barack Obama as his popularity plummets to new lows, the White House has ensured there will be no opposing voices to the Obamacare agenda when the President makes a town hall appearance in New Hampshire tomorrow.
The Secret Service will also be keeping a close eye on the throngs of protesters that are likely to gather outside.
However, the many liberal commentators who rightly slammed President George W. Bush for his numerous scripted town hall meetings are noticeably silent in their criticism of Obama’s similarly staged event.
“The White House controlled the distribution of the free tickets to get into the gym at Portsmouth High School. And the Secret Service will take care of any unruliness,” reports the Boston Globe today.
Helping the Secret Service to chill the free speech of Americans will be White House front groups such as HCAN, ACORN, MoveOn.org (a George Soros outfit), the National Council of La Raza, the eugenics front Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Clintonite John Podesta’s war-mongering Center for American Progress, who have organized “marshals,” less favorably described as “brownshirts” by some, whose job it will be to police protesters and stifle their freedom of speech.

As we reported on Friday, pro-Obamacare union thugs, who will also be in attendance in New Hampshire tomorrow, last week assaulted Kenneth Gladney, who was handing out Gadsen flags outside an event in in Mehville, Missouri that opponents of the health care bill were barred from entering. The fact that Gladney is a black man is a fitting rebuttal to claims that Obamacare protesters are motivated by racism.
The efforts on behalf of the White House and the Secret Service are designed to prevent a repeat of the raucous scenes of protesters speaking truth to power that have unfolded over the last two weeks across the country, actions labeled “Un-American” by Nancy Pelosi yet in reality as American as apple pie, baseball and George Washington.
“Barack Hussein Obama will be arriving in Portsmouth on Tuesday to hold a STAGED “Town Hall Meeting”, where he will essentially hand pick who the guests will be and what types of questions will be asked of him,” reads an advisory released by the New Hampshire Republican Volunteer Coalition. “A MASSIVE protest rally is being organized just outside of the facility where Obama will be holding his ‘Town Hall Meeting’ to promote his plan for a government takeover of your healthcare decisions.”
Beyond the sideshow of the partisanship divide, it’s interesting to note that liberals who were rightly up in arms over President Bush’s innumerable staged town hall events are in fact supporting measures to ensure Obama can preside over a similarly scripted meeting.
In February 2009, the Think Progress website, which is the media arm of the Center for American Progress, a left-wing think tank whose stated goal is focused around “driving the White House’s message and agenda” according to its own director Jennifer Palmieri, and who have been busy attempting to discredit the town hall protests, reported that Obama was ensuring a “clean break” from the era of George Bush, “who aggressively screened his audience members.”
Now that the Obama White House is screening its audience members, will Think Progress be as critical of him as they were of Bush for doing the same thing? Or will they just continue to peddle government talking points as part of their stated mission to ‘drive the White House’s message and agenda’?

You better bring proof when you bring such repugnant,implied charges against your own armed forces. We sacrifice a lot. Remember, we took an oath to support and defend our Constitution, too.

Deprogrammer, you are pretty much correct. Most people don’t join the service for patriotic reasons. They join because it’s the only economically viable option they have in our militant society. They join to escape their town and wish to find adventure. They join for many reasons. Not all of them, but many do. And also, most are just fucking mushrooms, fed shit and kept in the fucking dark all the time. In the service, you are likely to know less about what is really happening where you are at than the avg joe back in the states. And make no mistake, many don’t understand their oaths. But, those that do, and those that follow them, those will be easy to figure out. Those will be the ones that won’t be following orders. Those that follow those orders to assist with law enforcement here, or to maintain order here, are following illegal orders and will be considered traitors to the Constitution they swore allegience to. On those soldiers, I would not shed a tear for shooting. I don’t have any to waste for traitors.

I’m sure Deprogrammer would have been one of the idiots that was spitting on the troops coming home from Vietnam. Lets be real here. I’m in the military (getting out VERY soon because i’ve woken up). Most people come in the military to young and immature to really grasp what is going on in the world yet. From their they get manipulated by propaganda and dumbed down, while still thinking they are doing what is best for their country. Now, i’m not saying that I would have a problem defending myself against a Soldier that was trying to stomp out my liberties, and when that day comes, so be it. But don’t be so hard on soldiers themselfs. They have all bought into either the (join and get college scam) or the (be a patriot and get paid scam). Either way, don’t blame the individual, blame the establishment for using kids fresh out of highschool that don’t know any better as pawns for geopolitical purposes. And especially those soldiers that are woken up, and will take thier oath seriously. I’m in Afghanistan, and trust me, I have woken up so many people so far, and I speak out against this fake war as much as I can. I feel bad however for those that are put into the position to kill for this messed up situation in the first place. Don’t be so hard on them, Soldiers have to wake up just like everyone else. Calling them racist baby killers is not going to make them want to wake up and be on the side of the true patriot.

Ordering US Military forces to police the citizenry of the United States of America violates the Posse Comitatus. However, Possee Comitatus Act is no barrier to federal troops providing logistical support during natural disasters. Nor does it prohibit the president from using the Army to restore order in extraordinary circumstances — even over the objection of a state governor. Army National Guard and Reserve Components have responded to a plethora of declared national emergencies, and our services have been a benefit and blessing to those communities.
We are not the Nazi stormtroopers that you paranoid delusional sycophants fear us to be. We come when our citizens are in their darkest hour, to protect and to restore the American way of life, per our beloved Constitution.
Differentiate your arguments. Clearly there is a conglomerated, confused group of misinformed and fearful idiots who are parroting bad information and fear. We’re all fighting for the same cause. I’d like to see our soldiers treated with more respect and gratitude.
God forbid, but there might come a day when you -NEED- guys like me. Will you spit on me during that dark hour, or will you be glad to see my hand reaching down into the mire to pull you and your family to safety? Where will your voice of hate be when you need the security which my platoon provides against those who are -real- threats to your liberty? That prison situation in Iraq with the thumbs up torture pics, I’d like to know how everybody else serving there feels about that. I am also worried that the government is pumping some of our troops full of anti-depressants. It’s a delicate subject to talk about…war profits, etc. to our troops. Sen. Feinstein, the head of the subcommittee that funds the war, well it was discovered that her husband is a lobbyist for the military industrial complex, SO unethical. We support you, I am concerned that corrupt people have been given a blank check with the lives of our troops. Mr. Lunsford: I’m not an economically disenfranchised citizen who joined because I have no other course for my life. I joined up back in 1994, a child of the Cold War era. I have since completed my education at the University in criminal justice and officer training through the corps of cadets. I come from a family heritage of service to our nation, going back generations.
I have studied the Constitution and the Federalist Papers. I understand how off track our nation has become, especially since the Federal Reserve Act was illegally snuck pas the American people.
You would think that an officer with this understanding and desire to DEFEND the Constitution would be welcomed here. Instead, I am denigrated for for my service, called a murderer and worse. Understand my position, I go where I am ordered, yes, but I go to insure the young men and women given to my charge return home to their families. It saddens me how viciously received our service members have become by our own citizenry.
I won’t return your unkindness with a volley of unkindness of my own. Instead, I will salute you and pray for you.

They need to have a televised reading of the bill, line by line and explain it line by line to what it means to everyone. We would have to find someone that is in the center. Not left nor right. Not that it will happen, but would make sense. K. talk like that will get you tossed under the jail. The meetings need to be more calm. It makes us right-wingers look like like thugs. Heated debates and peaceful gatherings will wake up the rest of the sheeple. I for one, am very against this bill. I do not like the way Obama and his pack of acorns (nuts, etc.) are running things.

(AP) In further developments connected to the St. Louis area Town Hall incident, reports now say that Kenneth Gladney, formerly portrayed as the victim, is now being regarded as the sole instigator and primary aggressor in the scuffle. Gladney was apparently overheard saying that he knew that if he were to sell flags and buttons at the event, unsuspecting SEIU members would out of curiosity come near enough to him, thus rendering them easy targets for his aggression. “I figured,” Gladney reportedly said, “that once a union guy got close enough to look at my stuff I could smash my face into his knuckles enough times to really mess up his hand.” The 150 pound Gladney was also overheard saying that he planned to lay on the ground feigning injury and, when offered assistance by caring but clumsy SEIU members, use his catlike quickness to roll out of the way causing the unwary victim to fall to the ground causing further injury. Video footage shows that Gladney also used his back and midsection as weapons, striking out violently at the toes of his intended targets.
SEIU officials have said that they are disheartened by the mistreatment of several of their members, but expect that SEIU members will persevere through difficulty as graciously as they always have. One union official spoke to the press on the condition of anonymity: “It’s tough to stand by and see these gentle giants picked on by a crazy little guy with a hate-filled agenda,” the official said, wiping away a tear. “But we wish no ill on the man. We hope he can get some good counseling, and someday become a peaceful and productive citizen in this great democracy. God bless America!”
The St. Louis County sheriff’s department and the Mehlville police, having been paid off by extreme right wing conspirators, are not expected to investigate any of these further developments.

It *WAS* satire. I’ll admit that the M.O. here is gentler than that of shouting down and interrupting (of course, you’re going to meet with people you supposedly agree with, so no need for confrontation); but if recruiting for an organized movement is labeled artificial for one side, then what is this?
Just curious.
And maybe I’m wrong, but it doesn’t seem that this e-mail leaves room for legitimate questioning of insurance reform details: you’re either fully supportive of the president or you’re part of a special interest partisan attack group. That somehow marginalizes anyone who might be neither.

Obama denying protestors in townhall meetings shows the cowardness of Obama.
I live in Atlanta GA. I went downtown. It was noonish. I decided to go to a restaurant located near the ACORN headquarters. While I was going through the area, ACORN people tried to recruit people to townhall meetings in Atlanta. ACORN wanted huge numbers at the townhall meetings. The funny thing is….all illegal immigrants avoid political events. Most of the working African-americans that ACORN stopped did not want their taxes going to support people who did not want to work. The tide is turning against Obama.

One of the loudest critics of Bush’s policies was Juan Cole of Informed Comment.com. He criticized warrantless wire tapping, the Iraq War, Patriot Act, torture, an much more.
