Occult symbol appears the world over – what is its significance?

During a visit to a breathtaking, beautiful and ornate Christian cathedral in Lucerne, Switzerland last week, I was taken aback by the sight of something that seemed completely out of context and out of place – a baleful and evil-looking Illuminati eye staring out over a representation of the crucified Jesus. Why do similar depictions infest Christian churches the world over?
The Church of St. Leodegar, popularly called the Hofkirche, in the bustling town of Lucerne in northern Switzerland, was originally built in 735 and the present structure was erected in 1633 in the late Renaissance style. The cathedral’s distinctive twin needles were part of the original structure.
The church is opulently decorated with awe-inspiring golden statues and vibrant paintings depicting stories from the bible.

But when one reaches the front of the church and looks up at a statue of the crucified Jesus, looming over it in a window near the roof is a depiction of a single eye inside a pyramid with yellow and orange sun rays emanating from behind.
This occult symbol is completely not inkeeping with the rest of the style of the church and the cathedral’s literature makes no mention of why it was placed there or what its significance is supposed to be.

Here’s another example of the depiction of the eye in the pyramid that Steve Watson photographed while visiting Piazza del Popolo in Rome this past June.
The video below showcases the Illuminati eye as seen in dozens of churches and cathedrals around the world. The author attributes the eye to a representation of Dajjal or “The Impostor-Christ,” an evil figure in Islamic eschatology who will supposedly return as a false prophet before Judgment Day. According to one description, “It is said that he will have one eye damaged and the other will be working.”
According to Wikipedia, “The belief is based around the events prior to the Day of Judgment around the Second Coming of The Christ, when ad-Dajjal who is blind in his right eye, shall gather an army of those he has deceived and lead them in a war against Jesus, who shall be accompanied by an army of the righteous.”
If that is so then why on earth do we see the eye placed above the crucified Jesus in the Lucerne cathedral and in hundreds of other Christian churches around the world?
The eye in the pyramid has been adopted by many different esoteric entities throughout history, including the eye of Osiris in Egypt, and the All-Seeing Eye in Freemasonry. It also famously appears on the back of the U.S. dollar bill. Henry Wallace, who was instrumental in having the seal placed on the dollar bill in 1935, had deep occult connections
As this website documents, the eye in the pyramid can be seen in the corporate logos of companies such as AOL, CBS and also appears in the window of many Starbucks coffee outlets.
As the Illuminati Conspiracy Archive details, occultists have long expressed pride in the symbol and cherished its signifiance, which denotes top down control by an elite harboring secret knowledge.
“Our beautiful seal is an expression of Freemasonry, an expression of occult ideas,” wrote H.S. Wyckoff in a piece for the Rosicrucian Magazine entitled The Great American Seal.
The Bavarian Illuminati, founded by Adam Weishaupt in 1776, also adopted the eye in the pyramid as their motif, which begs the question, why does a symbol that was used by an occult organization who stated their goal was to destroy organized religion appear in Christian churches across the world?
As Texe Marrs writes, “In his classic textbook, Memoirs Illustrating the History of Jacobinism, describing the Illuminist plot in France, Abbe Barruel affirms that, “The grand object of this conspiracy was to overturn every altar where Christ was adored.” Theirs, Barruel wrote, was an “unrelenting hatred for Christ and kings.”
So if the Illuminati, symbolized by the eye in the pyramid, wanted to “overturn every altar where Christ was adored,” then why does their motif still appear above the depiction of Christ’s crucifixion in Lucerne, as well as in Christian churches throughout Europe and America?

Why is it there? Because the organized religion has its purpose to keep the serfs in line. It has been that way since the dark ages. Going to church every sunday does not make you a christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car. Wake up and get united people of the world! The fact is that the progressive/globalist movement has adorned itself in priestly robes since its inception 500 or so years ago. In order to espouse to the masses that indeed morality, self-reliance, and free will taught in scripture is false, one must present himself as if he is simply building on and improving upon the scripture. Goebles said that “their is no better propaganda than the truth.” Modern masonic-run illuminatti serivng christianity (notice the small c) is a bastardization of certain aspects of Christian dogma and belief morfed into what will best serve the purposes of the progressive movement. Unfortunately, as we can see in the Episcopalian, Roman Catholic, and good percentage of “charismatic” prodestant churches, is such a radical departure from the original edicts of Christianity, that the word has lost all meaning.
In short, anyone who espouses totalitarianism or supports a large onerous government is by no means preaching Christianity. Christ said “Render Ye unto Caesar, that which is Caesar’s.” That did not include one’s sole or conscience. Christ alsoadmonished us to go into the city and “…buy a sword…” God would never contradict himself, and would never proport that which is wrong to be right, in fact, Isaiah tells us that that is a sign of the “End Times.”
Perhaps then, a better question than why does the accultic symbol appear in churches, is what does it mean?

The all seeing eye of God was a Christian symbol long before the perverts of the Illuminatai twisted it for their own ends.Adam weishaupt took the model fo the Jesuits for his orgainsation,not becuase the system used by the Jesuit order was intrinsically evil,but becuase it was effective and ordered.
The All Seeing Eye was a Christian symbol long before anybody thought to even build a masonic temple.The eye was pictured in a triangle with rays of light to represent the infinite holiness of the Trinity and the Onimpresnece of God.
This emblem was eventually adopted by Freemasons as a symbol for the Great Architect.
It makes perfect sense that Christians,who believe in an all knowing,all seeing God should have a symbol to demonstrate this omnipotence.One doesnt need to be Christian to understand the basic logic of this.And what better symbol than an eye!? Says it all. A little historical research wouldnt go amis with a lot of you out there.

The Catholic church has always been a major branch of the Illuminati. In order to get the masses to go along with something you need the religious authoritys to say it is okay. So you got the Catholic church [and now Pat Robertson]. Remember the Pope’s silence during the Holocaust? His current endorsement of abortion. And the famous Crusades in the middle ages and the Catholic sponsered holocaust against the protestents. The Catholic church also tried to stop the Bible from being translated into english and only recently even switched from doing services in latin to english. The Catholic church is filled satanic symbolism and even rituals once you get deep into and behind closed doors.

I love you guys but you need to wake up. Organized religion is controll. Christianity is sun worship, tracking god’s sun through the twelve zodiac signs. Jesus on the cross is symbolic of the sun lying on the southern cross. During the time before the winter soltice the days get shorter, symbolizing the dying of the sun to the ancients. Then around the soltice it stops, or dies for three days on the constelation called the southern cross. This is remarkably similair to other pre-christian gods such as Mithra.
Christianity is just a vehicle for control, like all major religions. Of course they use they all seeing eye. How does this not fit into the puzzle? The vatican and the protestant church (which is tied to English thrown) are major new world order players. It’s right there for you to see.

The eye does appear on numerous religious items (bookcovers, sculptures, etc.) but that does not certainly mean that there is evil intent behind it. As St. Augustine taught and all true Christians have believed from the beginning, there are two sides in battle: the city of God and the city of fallen man (ruled by the devil). The city of God is made up of the Church founded by Christ (Catholic) and its members (including those Faithful from the Old Testament) – a “world order” if you will, the one willed by God Himself and established by Christ. The city of man is made up of everyone not in league with Christ’s Church, so in essence “fighting” Her – attempting to create a “new world order”. The eye when used for Christian purposes has always meant the omnipotence of Almighty God and the pyramid obviously represents the Most Holy Trinity. The “rays” or “beams” represent the omnipresence or the Love emanating out of its source which is God. You can’t “draw” the Holy Trinity…the Blessed Trinity is a mystery and that is one of the better things that can be used as a symbol. The other method of portrayal being the three divine persons Father, Son and Holy Ghost shown respectively as a venerable old man (Father -revealed to the Old Testament prophets in this form), Jesus Christ (Son -actually assumed a physical form during His Incarnation and still keeps it until this day) and a dove (Holy Ghost -revealed during the Baptism of Christ in this form). It’s just like the “skull” in certain Catholic works of art…misrepresented as an “NWO” occult symbolism. Unfortunately this is the farthest thing from the truth. The skull was / is meditated upon to remind man of his last end, what he must face and be prepared for (dust and worms). It has always been a holy thing to meditate on the four last things (death, judgment, heaven and hell) and that is why the saints are depicted with a skull nearby sometimes.

Ken Doyle, Christianity stole much religious symbolism from earlier religions from places such as Egypt and from Babylon long before that. There are numerous earlier religions that centre on the trinity of father and son and virgin Birth. It is likely that Christianity, as manipulated by the same ancient roots of the illuminati, stole the All seeing eye of Horus from the earlier Egyptian religions.

If I’m not mistaken Jesus was against organized religion. Wasn’t he crucified for that ?, for informing the people about the Jewish “preists” and how they were money hungry, decadent, hypocrites, that only wanted to keep the people under their control ? He was a teacher not a preacher. Jesus would teach where ever he could, there was no church. The Christian Church was formed in oder to CONTROL the people using Jesus Teachings. Religion is nothing but brainwashing regardless of what religion you are. If your parents are muslim, you will be muslim. If your parents are buddhist, you will be buddhist. If your parents are Christian, you will be Christian. You inherit your religion from your parents which means that religion is simply a bunch of b.s. that your parents teach you, nothing granted to you by an all-knowing, all-seeing god(s). It is nothing more…nothing less.
The eye is simply to give you a sense of inferiority…and a sense that you are being watched.

Shalom Why are so many in the world and here in support of the Roman Catholic Church? Justin, you are RIGHT and A.C.M. everything that you wrote here is a lie. Yahshua (His real Name) did not start the Roman Catholic Church. King Constatine did several hundred years after Yahshua was murdered! vatican2refuter…………I think you should really step back from the church for a while. I think you should step back and just look and listen to what’s going on with the Church & the Vatican. I think once you’ve given yourself some time to just think for yourself, for once, you may see things you’ve never seen before. I’m not saying don’t be religious or don’t believe in God or Jesus, I’m just saying step back a little bit and look at things with a more open mind. I’m no art or Church historian, but I’m under the impression that when such images are found in Christian art, they’re usually symbolic of the all-seeing eye of God and the three sides of the triangle are symbolic of the Holy Trinity. They are not necessarily, or even likely, Masonic symbols.

Great article! We live in a spirit world and the gods influence us everyday. I am thankful for the liberation Jesus proclaimed. A liberation that frees me from all powers and frees me to encounter the life of the Almighty, Unseen, Ruler, and Creator of all. No curse can combat the pure blood of Jesus. No powers can separate a living spirit from the love of Almighty. I recently traveled to Ecuador. While I was in Quito (the capital) I visited the basilica. It is one of those giant, old, gothic-style catholic church and inside was an eye within a triangle built into the design of the stone on the wall. There was one on each side of the church. It was low key, but growing up catholic I was really surprised to see that in the church.

The eye in the triangle is indeed a misunderstood symbol…and like most of the symbols of the illuminati (ie: OWL, SERPENT, PENTAGRAM) it has been used by them in an evil way even though the symbol itself is not inherently evil (neither is an owl evil but they have convinced you to associated it with Bohemian grove, so now they have HIJACKED that symbol for you! see how mind control works!).

Symbols have levels of meaning. The eye in the pyramid can mean the perfected Christ. The stones of a pyramid need only 1 or 2 sides to be in line or perfect but the capstone of a pyramid needs to have all (4) sides to be perfect. This represents the perfection manifest by Jesus. Once a being is perfected he may enter the kingdom of Heaven, so to speak, that kingdom is entered through the Minds Eye, the third eye. Its the Pineal gland in the brain. “If thine eye be single…”.
Close your physical eyes and go inward through the single eye of meditation. No one comes to the father (the Christ consciousness) but by me, through the third eye the Christ consciousness can be manifested. Once this happens you are now a Son of God. A symbol in itself is not ‘evil’. It can be used for both good or bad purposes. The all seeing eye does legitimately represent God because it shows that God is in everything, and therefore sees everything. God is in you.
That being said, the power elite do use the all seeing eye to represent big brother, meaning they are tracking you no matter what you do.
It is important for people to wake up and realize that just because they weren’t taught something in Sunday school, doesn’t mean it is ‘evil’. The word “Esoteric” means inner, the word “Occult” means hidden. Jesus said “Be wise as serpants”. He didn’t say “Be afraid of knowledge and learn nothing more that what your religious leaders tell you.

I’ve noticed for many years now the illuminati symbolisms on and in churches and other places, the first thing that comes to mind is that “religion” itself is antichrist… those who are at the top of the pyramid are very into symbolism and ritual as ego is and remains a key personality trait of Satan… they get a thrill from mocking Jesus, if it weren’t enough for anyone to have devised a religion they must put their symbols up so as to remind themselves of what they believe to be achievement. There are LOADS of accepted historical documents from the first priests and bishops of the Catholic Church (the first three centuries after Christ). Listen, go read some true historical works – unbiased – from people other than Catholics. The Crusades were legit…certain people may have abused power at times, but the cause was holy. The BBC ran a very good documentary on the Inquisition and proved through the actual records kept at the time that those were the most humane and good courts in all Europe. People would actually blaspheme so they would get transferred to the Inquisition. And by the way, the Church never killed the criminals, the secular gov’t did and then it was only about as many people a year as the state of Texas executes. Remember at the time blasphemy was a capitol offense. Crimes against the soul are more dangerous than crimes against the physical body. More harm is done through harming the soul through bad teachings.

As Paul said, ‘I die daily’. The only way into heaven is to overcome your own sense of separation, which Paul called “the carnal mind”, and in today’s language, we refer to as the human ego.
We are all one with the divine. Our egos however, are not the divine, they are our sense of separation. Our egos are the illusion that we are separate from everyone and everything else and this sense of separation is truly are the cause of all suffering on the planet. The power elite are fully identified with their egos. I am so glad to see a number of True Catholics, and sede vacantists at that listening to Alex Jones and paying attention to what is truly going on. I know so many, especially in New England, who prefer to remain blind to the truth and who would have voted for anyone other than Ron Paul because they thought the important issue would be to do anything to prevent Hillary from being president, when all of the other candidates asside from Ron Paul are on the same team as Hillary. So many of them up north don’t care about preparing ourselves, stockpiling, knowing what is really going on in this country when it is vital to our own ability to practice our faith and survive the evils to come. It good to see that their are some catholics on this site unlike the infowars one. My family has never been happy with vatican II and I have read many of the things on mostholyfamily web site their writer is very sharp. I am not in agreement with them about our pope being a anti-pope because that is not for me to determine. If he teaches in error I do not have to obey. It could be that he is just a bad pope it would not be the first time. pope pius XII was a weak pope and allowed the people in who started vaticanII but he was still a pope. I do believe that we are in the begining of the end. I am a traditional catholic and do not forget that the third secret of fatima probably talks about the lose of faith starting at the top. hunter, Pope Pius XII was one of the greatest popes we ever had. We must remember that he was in the middle of a long and horrible war and had many things to concern himself with. One man alone cannot stop evil from coming if they want to come badly enough. Even the manner in which Pius XII died was very suspicious because he was very healthy and rarely got sick. Although, throughout history, misguided faiths have caused massacres and oppresion (Catholicism in particular), it is unfair — and, frankly, ignorant as well — to label faith as ignnorant. There are many logical, rational reasons to have faith of some sort.
As for the movie Zeitgeist: Good film, but some of the facts in the “Religion” portion of the film are skewed, or simply untrue. i.e. Flavius Josephus being an untrustworthy historian.
Obviously, I’m not going to go too far into details here, but if we can’t trust Josephus, we are forced to become complete historical agnostics.

I was in the capitol building in the room where the Mexican congress sits and I saw this eye staring down on the congress seats from the ceiling. I also saw this same eye in a small town of no more than 500 people in their local church built in 1549. It was also staring down over a portrait of Jesus. The inside cover of my Catholic Bible has it. The symbol has been used as a glyph of the Trinitarian God for at least 400 years, (which would predate Weishaupt). Correct, the protestant churches are no better than their mother, the catholic church. They all deny Christ within and focus on the letter rather than the spirit.
God is a spirit and they that worship it worship it in spirit and in Truth.
Jesus very clearly denounced the bible bashers of his day (the scribes and the pharasees). He very clearly said that the lawyers had hidden the key (teachings) to heaven and entered not in themselves.
This is identical to what you see in both the Catholic church and it’s offspring, the protestant churches.
All of them deny “That we can do the works that Jesus did, only great works than these we can do”.
All of them deny that God is “Our Father” and all of them refer to the general populous as horrible sinners who need their church in order to be saved.
This is identical to the scribes and the pharasees that Jesus denounced. Jesus was trying to tell you that you are a son of God. You have the power within you to do the works of Jesus, but you must overcome your illusions that seperate you from the infinite within. You must seperate yourself from your ‘human / ego’ will and surrender completely to the still small voice inside you. You must surrender completely to the will of the father, because you know that it is truly your own higher will.
We are all one, and the time has come for the true teachings of Christ to be spread far and wide.
It is time to come out of Egypt (traditional Christianity) and Mammon (scientific materialism) and know the truth that will make us free (we are all one with the infinite consciousness and we all ARE our neighbor).

I think the recent post from Howard really clarifies the reality of ego beliefs. For him it is holy water and “pre-1957″ Catholic Missals that is needed.

Speaking as a former Roman Catholic, I would invite all current Catholics to look into a document called Foxes Book of Martyrs and Monuments. It has quite a lot to say about the inquisition among other things. It’s author dates from around the 17th century. You are sadly mistaken if you believe the catholic church is the true church.
To those who think zeigeist has any accuracy at all, you are sadly mistaken as well. The claims made are bogus and easily dispelled.
Why not just look to Bible prophesy to see if it has any accuracy.

The all seeing eye represents the all knowingness of God, while the triangle represents the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (the Trinity: our one God who is three persons, basic Christian Biblical theology).
When the triangle becomes a pyramid, that’s when you should look out for occultism. Often those building (or renovating) Churches may have been involved in occult societies without the knowledge of the owners of the Church buildings.

There are two main versions of the “All Seeing Eye.” Satan counterfeits almost everything that the Lord also uses. Thus, we have two versions of the all-seeing eye, “The Lord’s Eye” and the “All-Seeing Eye.” “The Lord’s Eye” is usually depicted inside a sun (Meaning the Celestial Kingdom or the Kingdom where God resides) and is under or behind a curtain or veil that is inside the sun (meaning that all of us on Earth are separated from Him, but He can still see us). There is no Triangle in The Lord’s Eye.
The counterfeit of “The Lord’s Eye” is similar but doesn’t have a veil and instead substitutes a triangle or pyramid inside the sun. To many Christians, the representation remains the same as the original “Lord’s Eye,” even though they are using the ancient counterfeit symbol of God’s eye. The European Christians attached the additional meaning to the counterfeit that the triangle represented the Trinity.

It’s important to understand that we are being manipulated by a power elite, it’s important to realize that religion has been as manipulated as anything else, and to seek the truth that will make the earth free.
The truth that will make us free, is that we truly are one with the infinite consciousness of the universal creative force (God / Allah / Bhudda / Being) and that the father within us is ready to bring forth solutions to every problem on this planet. As in the case of all Christian symbols employed throughout its history the eye is just another example of the hijacking of a neutral symbol [to believe other than neutrality of a symbol is superstition] to represent other than which it was originally intended. The eye is mentioned in various places in the Bible, for example: “Behold the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him…” Psalm 33:18. There are many other examples as well.

At the start of the Iraq War, 4,000 people showed up for an anti-War protest in my own US city of 1.5 million. We had an anti-War protest in October 2007 and another in March 2008 that each drew 4,000 people. After six years of War, that represents an increase of protester turnouts of exactly zero.
So when exactly do you expect to draw your 300 million protesters? Where will they come from, when we can’t even assemble more than 4,000 in a city of 1.5 million?

clayman – don’t know which church you’re talking about – but go to the Storkyrkan in Gamlastan right next to the King’s palace – there you’ll find a side door on one side of the church with all-seing-evil-eye handles and a pyramid window above the door.
Inside the church you’ll find – among other things – very old gravestones on the floor – a lot of them with freemasonic symbols etc. and surpsingly the nobel-peace-of-shit winners give a speech during a ceremony there after they’ve received their re-wards for crimes againts humanity.
There’s also an obelix standing in between the church and the palace – and that’s not all – on the other side of the palace, in a small park, there’s a small, weird glass/plastic pyramid as well.

The Catholic church depicts Christ on the cross so that we never forget what our Lord did for MANY of us. The protestants like to skip that part and go straight to the resurrection, as if that was the most important part of the story. I sometimes look at the crucifix and weep over it, remembering our Lord’s suffering and how my sins help to continue to drive the nails through his wounded flesh. It makes me want to try harder not to sin. I don’t see how there is anything wrong with that.
Gargoyles were put on the pre VII churches to scare away evil spirits. There is nothing occultish about that.
As I said before the symbol of the pyramid with the eye and the sunbeams was not originated in the Illuminati order. Reading the Bible was the final nail in the coffin of my belief in God. I had to force myself to read that whole lousy book. At first I just wanted to put the thing aside, but I realised that if I did that than the defenders of this slab of garbage would always have the argument that I had never took the time to read and understand it. So I read the whole thing cover to cover twice, which is something I think very few Christians have actually done. The whole time I was reading I had to keep myself from either falling asleep or going into a fit of indignant rage. How is it so many people believe this incredible nonsense?
For instance, one of the most cherished beliefs of Christians is that Christ died for our sins. All good Christians should know that Christ’s death was supposed to serve to replace the sacrifice of cattle to propitiate God, as is read of throughout the Old Testament. Now, what kind of barbarians still believe in this sort of sacrifice? If you don’t believe in the effacacity of animal sacrifice it follows that you shouldn’t believe in the sacrifice of Jesus.
Another point (I’ve got a million of them) regards the second coming/end of days and Christ’s telling of when it was supposed to occur. More than once Christ says that this event would occur within the lifetimes of the people who were alive as he was speaking. Obviously that didn’t happen. So what is it that all you doomsayers are waiting for?

Gus, the first two verses from what I can see have nothing to do with the end of days if you read the whole chapter and not just pick out one verse. The last verse leaves one to decide what our Lord meant by generation. The Church says our Lord meant the age of the church shall not pass until all things things be done.

I was quite shocked to find the inevitable Rosevelt Dollar “Money-Eye” hidden behind a carefully-pruned topiary at the Normandy (France) memorial to US war dead. I said to fellow travellers almost as a joke – “look at the left hand side” (for the inevitable). I believe the church is being used as a vehicle today, since 1958 when the great Pope Pius XII died (of suspicious circumstances) and the freemasons infiltrated and created Vatican II and everything you see going on in the supposed church today. All for the purpose of deceiving us all into thinking the Catholic church is evil. It makes sense that they would want to take control of the largest religion in the world. Think about it.
Now Catholic priests don’t preach that Jesus will save us all in the end. Jesus himself said that He died for MANY, not ALL. Only the few elect will be saved in the end. Most souls fall into hell. And when the Great Chastisement does happen, it won’t be pretty and wonderful. It will be worse than the great flood in the time of Noah. Most of the world will die along with most of the church. That isn’t something to really look forward to. God will have His judgement upon the earth for our sins and offenses against Him, and we should all be trembling with fear. I see such evil persisting in the world today and I wonder that He hasn’t already put down his mighty and terrible hand upon us. It is however only true Catholics as far as I know that are trying to do reparation for the sins of the world. That is true charity and I cannot stand to see the good Catholics persecuted for loving everyone so much that they offer their sufferings and sacrifices for the sake of the poor sinners. That is the true church. Not the men who are running the Vatican. They hate suffering and sacrifice and want those who follow them to forget it too. They want to see us all burn in hell. They are giving the good Catholics a bad name, and they themselves are not even Catholic. Please try to differentiate between the church and its members. As far as sexual abuse in the church goes, as I have said prior, those were not valid priests. They were post Vatican II Novus Ordo ordained men. Their ordinations are invalid, as are their sacraments. After Vatican II, they pretty much let anyone join their novus ordo seminaries, especially the bad ones. Again, the plan of the NWO to make you think the Catholic church is evil. Those men who abused little boys are not Catholic. They are agents of the NWO. As are pretty much all of the men in the Vatican right now. I believe it would be very difficult to find one true Catholic in the Vatican today.

Although I must say that a lot of the history of the church has been distorted by anti Catholic historians. There are plenty of books out there that refute the claims of many of these historians. The original purpose for the institutional church was to hide all knowledge from the people – to dumb them down – to make them god fearing and obediant feudal-slaves – and of course, to keep them that way. Note that, it managed to do just that for hundreds of years.
Today we’re going thru the same again – the constant flow of entertainment and disinformation is dumbing people down, the politicians and the media (modern day preachers)are scaring the shit out of people and most of us are debt-slaves.

I am a moral atheist; that is, my atheism stems from moral considerations. I believe that morality has its basis primarily in truth and I cannot, in good conscience, believe in God if the evidence for his existence is not compelling. It’s tragic in a way. I would love to believe in God, but truth must be accepted even if it conflicts with our deepest wants.
Also, I admit that there is always the possibilty that I have not examined the question properly. I am open to any good argument in favor of God. It’s just that, so far, all such arguments have just been too weak for me. Besides, when I see all the destruction that religion is capable of, it only helps to confirm for me that false belief leads to depravity.
My faith is in Mankind. I know that such an outlook may seem bleak, but it’s all we’ve got, and we have to try to make the best of it.

I understand your argument concerning religion and all the destruction, evil and pain that it has caused over the centuries since Christ appeared but keep in mind that God has given us free will and that includes the leaders of standard religions. Because they do things with the power that are not righteous in the eyes of God does it not mean that he does not exist? No. For example, Bush is the President and the people who make up the Congress and the Senate have free will to attack countries that are of no threat and to do the terrible things they do, but it is not the American population that is doing it. Our leaders are. We should not be blamed for there actions. What I am trying to say is that isn’t it better that God has given us free will and the choice to live the lives we want but also we must eventually pay for the lives we lead. There must be consequences to all of our actions both negative and positive. Doesn’t your gut just tell you that there is more than meets the eye about us and our reality and that a higher power must be in charge somewhere. I’m not talking about Extraterrestrials or Gods from another dimension but the one true God. Satan has from day one when he was banished from Heaven for his sinful nature been trying to do everything to seperate us Humans Go’d creation from God himself. He was made and upset that we humans were to replace angels as Gods chosen creation in his image. God bless you.

I’ve read the whole comments column. Wow. It seems the “believers” are not only the most intolerant of others, but the most blood thirsty. I blows my mind the all these believers of Jesus/god are the most vicious, and ignorant of the actual teachings of christ. I do, however, applaud the sincerity of you all-everyone. So many of your have read and studied extensively-so have I, but it doesn’t really matter as the following is just my humble opinion and we probaably haven’t read the same things, other than the bible.
The reality of all this symbology is that it means what the beholder wants it to mean. Like all art and artifice, knowing the intention of the artist or group may or may not affect the viewer. Possibly depending on how insecure the viewer is in their own experience or culture.
When folks write things like “history is true” or referring to others who have conflicting views as “human garbage” they are extremists and fear that their beliefs might not actually be true.
The advent of all religion is mans’ attempt to understand suffering and unexplained phenomena. History is only “true” with evidence and is written or revised by the victor/oppressor. The problem with the father/son theistic concepts are that in order to be faithful, the devotee must also believe in their own inferiority (sinner)so those in charge, who must be obeyed (priests, elders, sunday school teachers, etc.) will easily be able to manipulate them to commit atrocities according to their agendas. the problem with most current religion is that while they have mutated, they have not evolved. they do not encourage personal accountability, and much of it is superstitious-it’s easier to believe than to think for one’s self. That way people can tell themselves smugly that they are chosen, forgiven, favored while exploiting, torturing, raping others-oddly enough usually those whose beliefs are closest in dogma to the outside observer have the bitterest bloodiest histories. If armageddon in the way of a huge religious war happens, it is not divine will, but through the machinations of extremists and those manipulating them.
Myself, I am a Buddhist, and its a real bummer when we get lumped in with the theistic religions, because the bottom line is that we are not any better than any other human. All humans have the capacity for buddahood (ultimate compassion, probably the same as christ consciousness). Our practice is not the only way to enlightement-just the most expedient means. Throughout history there many instances of brilliant, courageous people who gave their lives in the defense of freedom or the good of others. Where’s their parade-why don’t people worship the corpse of gandhi, MLK or the girl who was killed by an israeli bulldozer while trying to protect the home of a palestinian doctor? Because they cannot be venerated by those who would hate them (racist, misogynist, militant, whatever).
If theres one “God” out there, theres probably millions. I don’t rule it out. But, the one thing that is indisputable is the law of cause and effect. Just like gravity, we can observe it happening every day. As a member of Soka Gakkai International, the best thing that ever happened to all the lay members is our mass excommunication in 1981. The priests felt they weren’t getting a big enough cut, enough subservience and above all they challenged the basic teaching of the Lotus Sutra that everyone could become happy in this lifetime, as they are, with no need for any kind of intercession. You can change your karma without giving up money, your autonomy and your personal dreams.
World peace is possible, but only when the gerneral populace realizes that when you fuck someone over or deny their humanity, it will bounce right back and smack you in the face, either this lifetime, or those in the future. Open your eyes people-heaven and hell are here now. Don’t look for a god or authority figure to know whats best for you.
Meantime, I’m chanting for the happiness of us all-especially ShenK who says he is a christian, but wants to shove black dildos into the orifices of those who frustrate him. Need I say how this illustrates what I mean?

I see that whereas christians have certain limitations in terms of open-mindness, so do buddhists with their what-goes-around-comes-around “karmalogy”.
What I mean is that wherease christans are able to just wait and believe in the come-back of their messiah – for he’ll solve all their problems, or so they say – this “karmalogy” is what keeps buddhists from doing much more either.
Example – “he’s a bad person, but don’t worry – he’ll return as a butt-fly in his next life while you’ll be a king for just being such a good person”. Now, if you’re conditioned to the full, that’s exactly what you’ll do – and nothing more.
However, it will NOT “bounce back” if the people that get “fucked over” get completely exterminated during the process as well, will it?
Let’s take the native people and small nations all over the world as an example – lot’s of them have been exterminated and/or their cultures have simply been – or are currently being – destroyed one way or the other – and in which globalization is currently doing a “great” job, by the way.
In case of “just” cultural destruction – where your identity is being changed – the cultural memory erased and replaced by a new standard – or set of standars, step-by-step – the bouncing back won’t necessarily happen either.
Now, what if the same people (bloodlines or whatever) have been “fucking people over” for ages already – while being in charge of all major religions etc. – they’ve just let the common people do the fucking & smacking around – let alone the believing that it was always “meant to happen” – “the will of god” or “karma” or whatever?

AmenStop-nothing was ever “meant to happen” except in that the stuff that present as obstacles can actually be used stepping stones to your greater happiness. Suffering doesn’t make you a good person, and i don’t beleive i will come back as a king, or a better speller, just because i’m a buddhist. It does mean that i know i can’t ignore injustice, that i must be willing to have a stand alone spirit and say what needs to be said-but not based on my ego or hurt feelings.
Since i embraced these teachings i have been able to take a more philosophical approach. people will always try to undermine anyone who threatens the staus quo. But when they persecute me i know they are mitigating my negative karma. It doesn’t make it any more comfortable, but if i can move through it without making negative causes, stay clean in my motives i can still be victorious. Marianne Pearl is a really good example of turning personal tragedy into a victory-we call it changing poison into medicine. No one can bring her husband back, but her willingness to go public and maintain her dignity gives all survivors hope of overcoming without stooping to the level of the people who murdered her husband. Violence does not bring peace.
Buddhism is not about good or bad-which is often subjective-its about win or lose. winning over our own fundamental darkness. It’s also not about taking shit off anyone, either. I am talking about Nichinren Daishonen Buddhism. people forget that buddhism has as many, probably more sects than christianity, since its been around longer, and most of them don’t believe that women can attain buddahood. SGI; accept no substitutes.

Before I knew that the pyramid with the eyes was an occult symbol, i was told (even read in a christian book) that it stood for something else.
The triangle stands for the trinity (Father+Son+Holy Spirit), the Eye, is Gods alseeing eye.
Even though the symbol could have a occult origin many christians thought is was a christian sign and used it without knowing that is occult.
By the way “davids star” is exactly the same thing.
Notice that there is a difference. There is not a top-of-the pyramid above the pyramid in churches. It is actually not a pyramid but a triangle.

The churches were built by freemasons or masons, there is no surprise then that you’ll find occult symbols. I have freemasonry in my family now, and dating way back through generations, one was a bishop. A lot of churches are and have been corrupt, but then, that is not a surprise, the bible warns of corrupt things and teachings sneaking into the church and teaches to go back to what the bible says! I’m a Christian, and I don’t condone the things that the Roman Catholic church have done, very evil. They even killed millions upon millions of Christians agongst millions of other people. Don’t get me wrong, I love the people in the church, and am friends of all that seek to know God. However, a lot of corrupt teachings and teachers are in the church! They need to go back to just the bible. Mary is NOT the mother of God, that would make her God and her mum God and her mum an even earlier God etc. The bible teaches that Mary was a woman of God, she was a sinner like all of us and never died a virgin as Yeshua (Jesus) had brothers. The pope is corrupt, most know that. Nothing holy about him, just like the rest in history, and linked to Paganism(strongly), mormons, freemasonry, Illuminati, etc
Even in more charasmatic churches there are a lot of false prophets. We have to have our eyes open, and read the bible, as that is what gives insight into todays events. You can see that loads of prophecies have just come to pass in the last few decades. We are headed for very very hard times, and there will be alot of delusion and persecution. If you don’t beleive then just check out bible prophecies and wait for them to unfold. And if you are forced to have anything on the right hand or forehead then say no(You won’t be able to buy or sell without it), no matter what the cost. If it happens within the next few decades then it’s on time as prophecied, although I don’t think it’ll be decades. The bible has warned ahead of time. Also the one world goverment was warned about in the same time frame, this site gives some insight into how it’s happening. I was a complete atheist until I researched bible prophecy and evolution!
Anyway, Christians aren’t part of the conspiracy, people in disguise as Christians are. A true believer would never follow satan worship.

Funny thing that you mention the eye, yet ignore the bigger and much more intrusive symbol; The swiss Flag. according to a book my a Turkish academic, Harun yahya, which is freely available on the net (The knight templars), he mentions that upon the expulsion of the Templars from France and most of Europe, they found refuge with the swiss, who had and still have a fragmented unity of cantons that form a State. I think Ottobock is absolutely correct concerning the Majority in organized religions i.e. Egypt,Babylon,and Rome using falsehoods to control the masses.
