We’ll never really know why Jeff Bezos is in attendance this year. Maybe the Bilderbergers really do need free ebooks for their Kindles.

Included among the Bilderberg Group’s list of elite attendees this year is Jeff Bezos, Founder and CEO of Amazon.com. Given the cloak of secrecy that envelopes The Group, we’ll probably never know exactly why Bezos has been invited to attend this year, but it’s safe to assume that it’s not because Bilderberg members want free access to Kindle ebooks. So, why is Bezos attending this year’s conference?

A glance at this year’s agenda gives us a few clues. One of the key topics of discussion this year will be how big data is changing almost everything. Amazon, founded in 1994, is the largest online retailer in the world, so obviously, Bezos understands Internet technology.

More important though is Amazon’s ability to collect and analyze user data to drive sales. Pull up a single item on the site and you’ll automatically start to see recommendations for other products you might be interested in. The more you search, the more targeted those recommendations until soon it seems like someone at Amazon is reading your mind.

Their ability to manipulate the buyer is second only to Google’s. Which leads to another possible tie-in… Amazon’s relationship with Google.

Google CEO, Eric Schmidt will also be attending the Bilderberg conference this year, and it’s no secret that Google has been manipulating search results in favor of big brands for years. After Google’s Panda and Farmer updates in early 2011, many highly competitive small business websites were dropped for the SERPS in favor of five of Google’s big-name buddies: Amazon, eBags, Buy.com, Walmart.com and Office Depot.

Given the fact that Amazon, alone and in conjunction with Google, has managed to annihilate even Wal-Mart’s best efforts to build an online presence, the Bilderberg echelon must be chomping at the bit to learn more so they can apply these techniques in the quest for a new world order.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Bilderberg meeting without some discussion of how better to transfer the world’s wealth into the hands of the powerful elite. And again, Amazon ranks second only to Google when it comes to manipulating the tax system to their own advantage.

According to Forbes, Jeff Bezos is worth $25.2 billion, ranked #11 in the Forbes 400. Bezos founded Amazon in 1994 at a time when the Internet was experiencing rapid growth. At that time online retailers didn’t have to collect sales taxes on states where they didn’t have a physical presence andBezos took advantage of this fact. He established his base in Seattle because of its relatively small population, which meant fewer of his future customers would have to pay sales tax.

Since then, Bezos has carefully chosen where and when he builds his Amazon fulfillment centers so he can avoid collecting and paying sales taxes. Amazon is also the biggest target in the ongoing Internet Sales Tax argument in Congress. Undoubtedly, his wealth-building and tax-evasion experience will be a great addition to the Bilderberg plans for total economic control.

But let’s look a little farther into the future. In 2000 Jeff Bezos founded a little company called Blue Origin, a company “committed to decreasing the cost and increasing the safety of spaceflight.” Earlier this year, Bezos was reportedly discussing “business opportunities and strategies” with Richard Branson, the multi-billionaire founder of Virgin Group and the fourth richest citizen in the UK.

It’s possible the Bezos is only interested in exploring space for the betterment of mankind. But given the fact that Amazon, and now Blue Origin, are both operated under-the-radar and in tight-lipped privacy – just like the Bilderberg Group – it’s more likely there’s a nefarious scheme in the works.

Consider this: Bezos originally founded Blue Origin because of his fascination with space travel and his earliest interests were in constructing space hotels and amusement parks and space colonies for 2 or 3 million people. He not only wanted to explore space, he wanted to develop it as a future vacation destination and Real Estate investment.

For the Bilderberg Gang, the idea of owning Space and being able to pick and choose who gets to leave this planet when they get done sucking it dry, must be awfully attractive. But, like I said, we’ll never really know why Jeff Bezos is in attendance this year. Maybe they really do need free ebooks for their Kindles.
