Why Psychologists Are Infinitely More Dangerous Than Conspiracy Theorists
They have helped tyrannical regimes throughout history define suspicion of authorities as a mental illness, just as John Gartner did in his Psychology Today hit piece

According to a Psychology Today hit piece written by psychologist John Gartner, people prone to thinking that powerful men might actually get together and plan to maintain and advance their power are borderline psychotics who are a danger to society. In reality, hundreds of years of history has taught us that psychologists routinely aid authoritarian regimes in enforcing tyrannical and inhumane policies while helping them crush political opposition by defining suspicion of authorities as a mental illness.
As we highlighted in our article yesterday, psychologists in the Soviet Union were used to stifle free speech by classifying skepticism and political opposition to the state as a mental illness, which is precisely the implication littered throughout Gartner’s crass hit piece.
In the former Soviet Union, psikhushkas — mental hospitals — were used by the state as prisons in order to isolate political prisoners, discredit their ideas, and break them physically and mentally. The Soviet state began using mental hospitals to punish dissidents in 1939 under Stalin.
According to official Soviet psychiatry and the Moscow Serbsky Institute at the time, “ideas about a struggle for truth and justice are formed by personalities with a paranoid structure.” Treatment for this special political schizophrenia included various forms of restraint, electric shocks, electromagnetic torture, radiation torture, lumbar punctures, various drugs — such as narcotics, tranquilizers, and insulin — and beatings. Anne Applebaum, author of Gulag: A History, indicates that at least 365 sane people were treated for “politically defined madness,” although she surmises there were many more.
The profession of psychology blossoms under tyrannical regimes, as is explored in Ulfried Geuter’s The Professionalization of Psychology in Nazi Germany. Under Hitler’s Third Reich, the relationship between the ruling Nazi thugs and psychologists was close and mutually beneficial. People like Nazi psychologist Robert Ritter, Ph. D. (pictured top) were instrumental in persecuting minorities and enforcing eugenicist policies of genocide.
“From Nazi Germany, South Africa, Russia and the former Yugoslavia, to Iraq today, psychiatry has been and/or remains a key player. In fact, the marriage between authoritarian government and psychiatry is as old as psychiatry itself,” writes Jan Eastgate, International President, Citizens Commission on Human Rights, “In the 1800s, Germany’s militaristic “Iron Chancellor,” Otto von Bismarck, utilized psychiatry to influence and control whole populations in order to fulfill his dreams of conquest through war.”

In his book Dangerous Minds: Political Psychiatry in China Today and Its Origins in the Mao Era, praised as “eloquent and convincing” in a New York Times Review of Books piece, author Robert Munro exposes how psychiatrists and psychologists continue to be at the forefront of the brutal Communist Chinese system of ascribing mental illnesses to those who express even mildly negative political opinions towards the ruling Party.
The book reveals how, “From the 1950s onward not only Chinese dissidents but people who submitted petitions to the authorities have been detained by the police, examined by psychiatrists, and found to be criminally insane—or, if found mentally “normal,” designated as criminals to be cast into the prison system.”
An official Chinese police designation for those worthy of “psychiatric custody” cited by Munro lists people who write anti-government letters, make anti-government speeches or those who merely express opinions on important domestic and international affairs that could be considered anti-government.
But the use of psychologists in the pursuit of inhumane policies is not just resigned to tyrannical regimes of the first half of the 20th century.
Recent revelations surrounding the torture scandal highlight the role of psychologists in what the Physicians for Human Rights organization alleges amounted to “unlawful human experimentation” and torture on inmates at Guantánamo, Abu Ghraib, Bagram and other U.S. detention sites.
“PHR says health professionals participated at every stage in the development, implementation and legal justification of what it calls the CIA’s secret “torture programme,” reports the London Guardian.
Doctors and psychologists actively monitored CIA torture techniques and helped evaluate their effectiveness, a “violation of core ethical values” according to the American Medical Association and a flagrant abuse of the 1947 Nuremberg Code, which forbids experimentation on humans without their consent.
The CIA’s close relationship with psychologists and psychiatrists in conducting illegal torture programs stretches back decades.
“Historian Alfred W. McCoy has shed light in this area in his recent book A Question of Torture and in numerous articles and interviews,” writes Stephen Soldz. “He documents the decades-long CIA effort to utilized psychological expertise to develop forms of torture that could break down the personality of detainees, rendering them, it was hoped, incapable of withholding desired information. Many of these technique were utilized during the Vietnam conflict and in the various brutal U.S.-supported counterinsurgency campaigns in Latin American in the 1970s and 1980s.”
While Psychology Today’s John Gartner cites a single example of a “conspiracy theorist” who voiced support for Alex Jones entering Bohemian Grove armed with guns, and uses it to make the implication that “conspiracy thinking” is a major threat to society, documented history stretching back hundreds of years shows that psychologists, and particularly their tactic of classifying suspicion of authorities and “conspiracy thinking” as a mental illness, have played a key role in preserving the power of dictatorial elites and helping them to carry out inhumane practices while crushing free speech and legitimate political opposition.

Well known truism in the mental health field- majority of “psychologists” enter the industry to vicariously fill their own mental needs “helping others”. Instead of truly working on themselves. Most folks who have genuinely sought their aid will know a real therapist is very rare. Most are crazy as loons themselves, much less turn them loose on others.

I used to live near Wembley stadium and had the “pleasure” of being visited by Liverpool and Scotland fans. Bloody mindless urinating louts…David has talent best spent on his current work. Soccer should be a game only, not a career. Its become too commercial, also.

The problem with this particular article is that psychoanalysis, as we know it, has only been around for 150 years or so. If it was all absolute meaningless quackery then marketing wouldn’t work. Brainwashing wouldn’t work. Just because there is alot of BS in it, doesn’t make it meaningless quackery. I can with fair certainty guess, alot of the beliefs you had and some you may still hold are based on psychology used to get you to believe and even fight for something you think as common sense or you own conclusions. Things would be alot simpler if it was all BS. Psychology is used on the general population everyday on TV to great effectiveness. Sometimes too good.
The fact that it is a “fuzzy” science, in that it deals with abstracts rather than definitives, it can be used to argue the most ridiculous claims. Making it just another tool for those wishing to oppress,deceive and control to use. The main thing I think that needs to be taken from the article is that it should not be treated at the same level other science is because it does not meet the criteria for hard science. It only presented as hard science when someone it trying to prove something that the hard facts don’t support. Such as in this article or a defense lawyer realizing that his client is without a doubt guilty using the insanity plea.

Uh actually, The history of psychology as a scholarly study of the mind and behavior dates back to the Ancient Greeks. Philosophical interest in the general set of phenomena currently organized in the West under the label “psychology” dates back to the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece, China and India. These earlier forms of inquiry began adopting what would now be recognized as a more clinical and experimental approach under medieval Muslim psychologists and physicians, whose practitioners built what we would today recognize as psychiatric hospitals.

I guess he means “modern medicine” psychology, because psych. has been around since ancient times. But, Modern psychology mostly took off in the 1800s in Europe, then Germany with Sigmund Freud, and then another psychologist brought it to the West.

Michael, You are in a complete state of denial. Just evaluate these simple facts and draw form your own opinion.
Fact 1) From the video of the tower falling you can time the duration of the fall. And if you are a “reverse” conspiracy nut and claim that the conspiracy theorists increased the speed of the film, Columbia University seismology lab confirms the timing of the fall.
Fact 2) During the events of 9/11 and 7/7 both governments were engaged in military drillls. On 9/11 our Air defense was deployed in a drill that was emulating the “what if”" scenario of planes being hijacked and used as weapons against the nation. When the real distress calls came in, people in the air defense department were actually asking “Hey is this real or part of the drill”? In similar fashion MI-5 and British police were conducting a similar “what if” exercise precisely at the time the real attacks happened on 7/7.
Fact 3) Why would 818 and counting Architects, engineers and scientists, the overwhelming majority who are Americans be questioning the official report? See http://www.ae911truth.org/ Not a group of nuts. All sane, sound of mind, educated scientists, engineers and architects.
Ramifications of each fact. Fact 1) According to the official pancake collapse theory, this could not happen at a rate of free fall. It would have taken considerably longer. Any expert on building demolition I have heard comment on this (with the exception of anyone employed by the government) stated it had all characteristics of controlled building demolition using explosives. A building can not fall at the same rate of say a bowling ball thrown off the top of a building. This violates the laws of physics. It is impossible, unless of course you use explosives.
Fact 2) Ask any mathematician to calculate the odds of two seperate governments conducting drills have the actual disasters take place and the time of said drill. You will not find a mathematician that tells you the odds are less than one in a billion.
Fact 3) Why risk the chance of being ostracized by coming out publicly against the Federal Government, unless you were patriotic and knew something was absolutely wrong. And now that you know this group of professionals exists, did you ever wonder why the mainstream media has never talked about this group in their news reports?

About fact 3, here is another thing to consider about the 818 architects and engineers who signed the 9/11 petition….they are the brave ones who are willing to have their names and careers put on the line and risk ridicule. Just think how many more professionals there are that believe that 9/11 was an inside job, but just don’t want to take the risk for the sake of risking their careers…I would guess the number of petition signers would be at least 20 to 50 times greater.

818 architects wow that is impressive!!!! not.
There are 108,000 architects in the U.S. today. Less than 0.7% questionned the story. And out of those 818, some weren’t actually americans, so that leaves like 0.5%.
So just to get it right for all of you, once and for all, 99.5% thought nothing of it. But oh 0.5% thought the official report was wrong. Wow, you dont even need a psychologist to tell you what these people are.

Concerning Simon’s fact 1…This is an accurate statement. If you are logical person and a scientist, you can only come to a few conclusions. You can go the way of the first conspiracy, that members inside the government planned this at the direction of the Rockefellers, Warburgs, Rothschilds and other powerful men. The reason being to slowly eradicate the Constitution. Free people are a thorn in their collective backsides. In addition, there is a positive economic impact that a never ending war on terror creates for above mentioned bankers.
The second conspiracy theory would be that in addition to the planes striking, terrorists got into the building and wired it with explosives. The government just doesn’t want to admit the tremendous breach of security.
Another option would be to think that the government hired complete idiots to assemble the official 9/11 report.
Whichever opinion you come to or theory you subscribe to, there is no possible way that the planes striking these buildings and the heat of the jet fuel burning took them down. The buildings were destroyed by controlled demolition. Even eyewitness reports from men inside the buildings on lower levels who got out in time, said they heard explosions in the lower levels, long after the initial hit of planes.
My observation for people to ponder and opinion…We spy of on other governments and enemy governments spy on us. To think that there is no penetration by our enemies into the halls of our government is ludicrous and illogical. Remember Kim Philby and the United Kingdom?

Why is all this necessary? I am getting tired of the whole system. I am in Canada, I have been told that “Refugees” get $2,400.00 a month and assisted rent. Minimum wage at about $10.00 an hour is $1,600.00 a month if you can get full time. One guy I know of gets $1,300.00 as mentally disabled under “OSP” because he tells everybody he is not a human being but rather an angel who is only three years old. I pay a GST PST and Income tax if I am lucky enough to make any money. My clients are also being killed by taxes. I was just wondering WTF? I think back to the sixties when things were just always getting better, a bright future and all that! So what happened? Could Christians be right? It is deeply offensive the refugees get so much money and assisted rent. That money is actually a lot compared to many Canadians who work. They should maybe at most get support for a year and then need to make their way into the economy in one form or another. My advice to Canadians: absolutely refuse to work for less than $2,400/month. Debunking in general terms is a bunch of bullshit. You make a point by proving it with facts. They used retired Generals (media experts) in the early day of the Iraq war to falsely boost support for the war as the whole WMD farce was falling apart. The declassified documents prove the existence of the program, wheres the outrage? They used media in Desert Storm to build up the “big beach landing,” with the intent of pulling a massive flanking maneuver all along, it was the strategy. The media, knowing the truth, went right along with it for good 24-7 coverage to be blasted into the heads of millions of people through media. The media threw ethics out the window to become whores to the govt for profit, and a promise of a safe place in the new hegemony to reap the spoils when the shit hits the fan. And as we see right now those govt, military, agencies and police are being inverted in the name of terrorism, and as that fades it will be the new fear-based motivation, epidemic and when that fades it will be something else. Each one grabs another piece of your freedom. They use PsyOps to craft it so we willingly give up everything and ask for it. Divide and conquer, and the partisan armies they will eventually have to face in America will be smaller and more easily disposed of. They rest will be obese, stupid, poor, powerless and utterly dependent on their rulers for survival.
A good place to research would be late WWII Italy, when people began to realize that Il Duce was a fuckin monster, like the rest of the Reich. For example take this site if you were a normal MSM believing bod and stumbled on this board you may read an article about 9/11 or JFK and the related comments and be very interested in the subject however as soon as you start hearing the same people talk about reptillian blood sucking lizards, no planes, lasers from space and religious nonesense you will most likely be put off and think everyone is a nutter which isn’t the case but can easily happen.
Whilst not every major event involves conspiracy some obviously do and we have lots of evidence of intelligence services controlling “terrorist” groups through inflitration and other forms of manipulation. You can’t say all mental health professionals are bad, but the fact remains that much of their training is not comprehensive and is certainly biased. The ones who really help people have to get a good deal of training after graduation. Many of these “helpers” who end up hurting many people in the “system” were hurt themselves and are on the lookout for evil doers they can protect the world from.
Sadly, psychiatrists and psychologists have been responsible for more deaths in the modern world than the wars and it is probably from their indoctrination from the educational system. Then there’s the people who consider the rest of us cattle for them to herd.

If Conspiracies are all fake, pretend, made up and insane
then why is it illegal to be part of one? It wouldn’t be in
my first year law books.
All 3 of the college psychology courses I took were just insane.
The textbooks always reference as their sources other psychobimbos
who reference other psycho bimbos. They use their own books
as references to their crazy theories. Their VERY OWN BOOKS
written by the author of the psychology text to back up their lies.

You are too narrowly defining conspiracy. If one dude says to another “hey, we’re gonna rob a bank at x:xx AM”, but are caught before they are able to commit the crime, then that’s a conspiracy. Obviously not all conspiracies are fake (and that’s not what the article suggests), but many conspiracy theories about government officials are.
Of course, that might be what you learn in your second year of law.

The author of the article wanted to interview members of AJs family obviously with the intention of muckraking and that type of thing.
AJ did the right thing by blocking the author who rather than being a professional who is objective in his article and his research comes across as someone who is heavily politicised and its obvious who he is working for and what his agenda is.
The article is heavily slanted .I like the way the author of the article cherry picks some other quotes from other psychologists that reinforce his own opinion.

1) Paranoia is your survival instincts telling you SOMETHING is wrong. Animals are “paranoid” when they got to get water not because they believe that there is something there to eat them RIGHT then, its because they know SOMETHING could be there right then.
2) If you honestly believe that government (regardless of which government you are under) has you, the Civilians best interest at heart, then you should automatically be diagnosed as having a mental disorder. As pointed out above, governments act to keep themselves in power, and the only time when you, the civilians interest and the governments interest coincide its because the government wants to keep you either happy and pacified, or its doing so out of fear that you as the civilian will remove their power.
3) According to the paper, the founding fathers would have all been crazy,a s they believed that a foreign governmental power was trying to exploit them for economic gain, while limiting their personal freedoms, invading their private lives, and general dictating to them what they could and could not do with their own persons.
I must be crazy as well for reading history books, comparing facts and taking hard earned lessons from my past. Ill go back to believing what I see on tv now..

Well, I think El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA is used to keep the “revolutionary people” just like in Soviet Union. The students from SJSU can be locked up there even they had no intention to commit suicide nor harm others and were on their ways to classrooms.
I can address the psychiatrists including Dr. Wiggsy Sivertsen, the director of SJSU counseling service, and others who make up their stories while the physical evidence from their victim contradicts the situation. The US mental hospitals are already the same level as the ones in China or Soviet Union.

This article is accurate. I wanted to pursue a carrier in psychology but then I’ve come to realize that it’s partially pseudo science and there are no real solutions. Drug the patients, get them addicted to a drug and keep them on it for the rest of their life. Treating the symptoms not the root of the problem. The reality is, at this point society is sick, our “reality” is total craziness, and it is a normal reaction when people become depressed when living a crazy, unnatural lifestyle without morals, guidance and faith.

dave u hit the nail on the head with psycologists prescribing drugs that have little or no effect apart from turning people into zombies. those that are seriously mentally disturbed and are a danger to themselves and others need to be controlled though. i’ve often said to people with mild depression that they have no need for these addictive medications. some have listened and some have not and of course thats their choice.
i’ve struggled for years with my own mental welfare and did consider seeing one of these people but i felt there was no need and eventually got to a point where i felt sane again through meditation, careful examination of myself and pleanty of people around me who actually cared for me and supported me through a very difficult time.
the mind is a very powerful tool when used in the right way.

Today, if you go to a shrink, you have a good chance of ending up like all the school shooters around the country, PROGRAMMED to kill large numbers of people and when the killing is done you will then turn your guns on yourself to get rid of the EVIDENCE!

lol… it’s not rocket science. There are plenty of groups online who all want to rule ‘the world’ and think they have ‘the right’ to try to bring ‘their beliefs’ to fruition. These are groups who have access to G8 meetings (Club of Rome/Globe International). They have their own websites and anybody with half a brain and access to google can go to their own sites, read their own news and read their own news releases. There was also a mainstream news source (CTV) who covered the Bilderberg group at a meeting in Canada. (Available on you tube.)
It’s also not rocket science to read news articles about scientists in Britain who wish to replace ‘bad genes’ with ‘good genes’ (the slippery slope of eugenics)…

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that psychology pushed an agenda. In the so called Sixties, psychologists considered a person mal-adjusted if that person conformed to the society. They were then in the business of breaking up families to help a person individuate. A well adjusted person might be too “enmeshed.” Many people took the advice of therapists and broke off family relations, only to discoverer that they had lost their support system. This focus on individuation stoked the culture of narcissism, and led to some mighty unhappy people who probably are now on anti-depressants. Sixties style psychologists also were biased against Christians, which was considered a pathology. If a therapist couldn’t persuade a patient to give up all family relationships, he/she might still be able to persuade the patient to give up a worthless belief system. But, then, therapy went out of style, and for awhile therapist actually tried to base their techniques on research. They had to consider the patient’s agenda, not just their own. But it appears now that has gone out the window too, and they are back to pushing an agenda–and this agenda is to help enforce the propaganda of the elites.

This is a sad example of the Constitution being used to take away Constitutional rights, premeptively. I’ve read many articles of truthers being treated as mental cases. Now it would seem that the Orwellian institution of psychiatry which is based on psychology has adopted a new slogan that will serve to both increase the riches of the likes of Eli Lilly (Bush Senior was on the board of directors) and take away the rights of the downtrodden. Wow, thanks for posting all that relivent info. It helps to show that, when the human mind which in the corse of all history is still childlike, explores a new area of thought. Often, many truthes are discovered and even if they seem very grim to us they are still truthes; but even more often they settle on false thruthes that are touted as fact.
Many refuse to realise that true itelligence of thought does infact require you to abondon what ‘current’ society deems as right and wrong. If this wasn’t true then we would still believe that the earth is flat for instance. And this kind of though is a very good thing, IF HUMANITY IS STILL PART OF IT. The mistake that many powerful thinkers make is to take the humanity out of it, then it becomes evil justified.
And as we all know, justified evil is the biggest problem that humans face today.

*All the scapegoats that were supposed to have flown the planes to they’er deathes are still alive and most have professed they’er innocence.
*Nobel prize winning engineres have stated logic and the laws of phisics prove beond a shadow of a doubt that it was ‘IMPOSSIBLE’ for the towers to be collaps by one 747.
*The fires were starved for oxygen, quite cool and going out.
*Countless witnesses say there was a series of explosions, not only herd but felt.
*Lots of impossible FALSE evidence was planted and all cams were confiscated.

Did you forget about women? Women were until very recently — and probably a case could be made that this continues today — incarcerated in psych homes and wards and given electric shock treatments for not being “normal.” Wanting something besides being housewives or low-paid wage slaves in traditional “female” fields. What was normal for women has changed, but normalcy is still enforced by psychologists.

Psychology was from the beginning, a mere 150 years ago, a novelty; here you heard “case-stories” about other peobles sex-life ,particularly the hot-jewish- family-structures influenced the science due to Freud. There seems in some individuals to be so ab-normally heightend an interest in other peobles minds that it is forgotten completely that psychology and psychiatry are NOT exact sciences; there are , at least, 7 different psychological schools that disagree on most – allso the very nature of psychology. Since the beginning of psychology how many peoble have been “cured” and how many killed??? The answer to that should be the base to judge from. AND: the 8th. of sept. the children in USA are being abused in a testing of the “sound of Silence -system” that is being implemented stealthily in the HD-sytem. “Sound of silence-system” sub-audio and sub-liminally “tunes” the minds of an audience (now all TV-wievers) into “religious sentiment” (as used by AKA in the pre-presidential campaign and in Berlin) fuming rage – and anything in between. The result could mean an incredible upsurge of the hypnotised Obama-Jugend-movement. There is no way you can be paranoid enough ;if you will deal with the real world -and stop dreaming “the american dream”- and dream your own dreams.

Psychology and psychiatry has been given a bad name (as usual, or with any other profession) by those who would adhere to their scientific doctrine not to truly free or help people, but to constrain them within the box of “acceptable” means of conduct in a society.
It’s a pretty wide sweep of a field of study but none the less true, psychologists themselves are inculcated with a greater or lesser degree of love of authority, systematization, and regularity of social norms. To a larger extent I think of at least classical psychology as the newest religion.
This is not to say I agree with the stereotype entirely. Carl Jung and many Humanist psychologists, especially Michael Tsarion and Terence McKenna, emphasized freedom and the understand of the mind for the sake of freedom.
If you ever read any Freud, like Civilization and its discontents, it can become quite disturbing how mechanistically he lays everything out, typical of a rigid scientific type, but Freud sucks, so who cares.
I’m a psychology major in college, although it is EXTREMELY misused, it’s probably a more important field of study than anything else I can think of.
The only threat posed to man is man himself.
