For years I have received letters written as elegantly as ransom notes, advising me of certain worldwide conspiracies. Sometimes the writing instrument of choice has been a crayon.
The most dangerous conspirators, said many of the scribblers, were the Jews, who allegedly were intent on dominating the world’s finances and everything else, which would be remarkable, given their small number. Then it was the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission that supposedly were conspiring individually and collectively to ruin America through their secret meetings and conspiratorial plotting. I dismissed these because I know members of both and found at least those I knew to be patriotic Americans. To conspiracists, that either made me “one of them,” or it made me a dupe.
I consigned all the letters to the same file, File 13, which held other bogus conspiracies, from the late atheist Madalyn Murray O’Hair’s alleged attempts to ban religious broadcasting, to the “fluoridation is a commie plot” campaign of the ’50s to GM’s supposed “death car,” which was said to cause the demise of whomever owned it, to the one about alligators in the New York City sewer system that bit women when they used public toilets.
Recently, though, I have been giving more serious consideration to another “conspiracy” that seems to be growing legs. It is the conspiracy of one-world government. As governments increasingly demand more power to direct and shape our future by mandating how we live (not to mention their increasing invasiveness with cameras, wiretaps and other forms of “monitoring”), those who believe in individual liberty are on the defense.
(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)
On Dec. 8, columnist Gideon Rachman of the Financial Times (www.ft.com) wrote as if he, too, is a reluctant conspiracist, listing themes related to global concerns: a global financial crisis, “global warming” and the global war on terror. He also pointed to the obvious shrinkage of the world through communication. In this, he is of the same frame of mind as Thomas Friedman in his book “The World is Flat.”
Rachman quoted Australian historian Geoffrey Blainey: “For the first time in human history, world government of some sort is now possible.” Blainey forecasts its establishment as some time in the next 200 years. I think it could arrive much sooner.
The European Union might be Barack Obama’s model, as could the United Nations. In nominating his top campaign aide, Susan Rice, to be America’s United Nations ambassador, Obama also announced his intention to raise the post to cabinet rank. In his book, “The Audacity of Hope,” Obama wrote, “When the world’s sole superpower willingly restrains its power and abides by internationally agreed-upon standards of conduct, it sends a message that these rules are worth following.”
In fact, the message it sends is that the ideas and ideals which made America unique in the world are no longer worth following, because in a one-world government, the United States would inevitably have to compromise its beliefs, laws, faith and everything else that makes it unique. European and Third World leaders would effectively be running the show. Barack Obama was elected president of the United States, not president of a world order, or worse, one of many equals among one of many nations that are nothing special.
It’s bad enough to have the Democratic Congress dictating to Detroit and borrowing money from the Chinese to keep automakers afloat, as they make cars fewer people want. It would be something far worse to have a world body pass laws that require Americans to live by standards they would never choose for themselves.
Rachman concluded on an optimistic note. Noting that even within the EU, a one-world government remains unpopular, he wrote, “The world’s most pressing political problems may indeed be international in nature, but the average citizen’s political identity remains stubbornly local.”
Maybe, but if we get too many “global” crises happening at once, the clamor for a one-world government to bring order, even at the expense of liberty, may be too strong for some politicians to resist.
So, yes, I’m starting to believe in the possibility of one-world government and it should be vigorously opposed if America, as we know it, is to be preserved.

Cal Thomas lost me at “The most dangerous conspirators, said many of the scribblers…” He is another jerk attempting to further the NWO cause with ridicule and derision. These guys are posting articles everywhere lately about the (conspiracy) to form a global governance. Imagine these posts as signals to the plotters that all is going as planned. Carry on.
December 16th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
He is actually responding to Rachman’s column and says that what his colleague and the historian cited think is at least “”200 years” away “could arrive much sooner.” And, if we read more closely, even if we just read the last line, we might notice he doesn’t exactly think that a “one-world government” is such a great idea.
December 16th, 2008 at 1:13 pm
Maybe he should investigate “File 13″ instead of filing it.

ALEX IS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING BUT HE DOES NOT SHOW FRUITS OF THE SPIRT EVEN THOUGH HE IS QUICK TO POINT OUT THAT HE IS A MORAL MAN! HE IS NOT PATIENT ,KIND, SLOW TO ANGER ETC. THATS WHY EVEN THOUGH I AGREE WITH WHAT HE SAYS, HE IS NOT REACHING ALOT OF PEOPLE BECAUSE HOW HE TREATS THEM. I KNOW HE IS NOT PERFECT BUT HOW ABOUT STARTING BY NOT CRAPING ALL OVER EVERYONE!

Look on the bright side…many who would never listen to the likes of “us” WILL listen to the likes of him, and any number of “them” may now become allies of “us”.

A world order is a very bad idea. The EU is a good example of a move towards global governance. The UN is sometimes used as an example, but the individual nations try to work on the premise of democracy with votes and consensus. EU, however, is a continental government that doesn’t represent the people as they really have no say in the workings of the EU. They don’t represent the individual countries interests, but that of themselves to keep legitimate and employed. Ireland was the only to have a voice and it shows what happens when people are given a voice. 1)The spoil global plans as they’re against globalism[shown by their voting] 2) it shows EU’s stubbornness as they can’t accept the voice of Irish people that voted against the Lisbon Treaty. So they just repeat their desires until they get their way. The Lisbon Treaty is infact a reincarnation of the European Constitution that also failed. The riots in Greece show how people under a form of globalized governance can fall under hardships that can’t be answered under such a distant authority. The identities of nations are the cultures of people. They have to kill your identity before one can accept a newer government. The impudence of global governce is why it will not be successful form of rule. It is also anti-democratic and the epitomy of totalitarianism. Unfortunately, current Western governments have a perpetual way of governing, like a freight train. Even if things change, they continue on the one way track to no where.
December 16th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Thomas, if memory serves, is very conservative and posits from that worldview. Two hundred years away from totalitarianism? Cal, it’s already here. The temperature in the pot is still at tolerable levels but soon the gas burner will be turned up and we will fill the heat. By then, as the fable goes, it will be too late to react in self-defense.
Resist. “Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.” (Emelio Zapata, Mexican
revolutionary; Mexico is still a despotic oligarchy run by only several rich families. They are
now encouraging their poor to immigrate to the U.S. for relief.)

I agree with OLDWORLDORDER. What good is so much warnings from Alex Jones if he never mentions the only posible solution? JESUS CHRIST. Look, the NWO is gonna happen, the chip ID is gonna happen, the ANti-Christ is gonna happen, wars and rumors of wars are gonna happen. There is no such thing as “if we all unite, we can defeat the NWO!!” No we can’t. I’m not trying to be pesamistic, but God said all this would happen, so if we all united and stopped the NWO, then we would stop prophecy from happening and thus rendering God a liar. This won’t happen; man will never ever make God a liar. There is no stopping the NWO. There is, however, personal salvation in Christ Jesus.
God bless us.

To anyone who hasn’t been indoctrinated against their will or to anyone who has critical thinking ability and a semblance of intelligence, God does not exist. The motivation behind one world government is to give our current political establishment an unassailable position in the world, free from the threat of revolution and usurpers. To be fair to the NWO the kind of blind indoctrinated USA style patriotism is just as, if not more dangerous than one world government.
The prevalence of pig ignorant religous nutters in the NWO movement is massively depressing and in its way just as dangerous as the secret societies and masonry of the ruling elite.
Oh and drop all the bats--- crazy drivel about chemtrails. This is just as ludicrous and damaging to the movement as any nuclear holographic bombs in the tower mentalists.

To all the unbelievers, I have a question: How do you explain the Miracle of Lanciano? It took place in the 8th century, has been preserved to this day, and was scientifically studied in the 1970’s. A google search will reveal all relevant data.
Don’t be too quick to believe the fairy tales about there being no God. Think for yourself; don’t be a blind followers of the fools. We didn’t evolve from nothing, as nothing comes from nothing. It takes a Creator to create. IF there be existence, there must of necessity be one who brought it into being. Only a fool would argue otherwise, and he who blindly follows the fools becomes one. Be a man. Use your mind and think for yourself.

I liked the part about floridation being a commie plot conspiracy, I believe he needs more flouride in his diet and hope his brain shuts down a little more…
As for one world government I believe it is all about regulation and over regulation, the only business that is growing is the police military big brother complex… thats really what needs to be cut and defunded
December 16th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
I thought this article was very well written–enjoyable, makes some good points. I don’t know about “communist plot” but fluoride in the water is definitely poison and brain-numbing. Veritas, your parents made you from “nothing”–are they gods? There are other possibilities besides a “Zeus in the sky” on how we came about. It’s an old argument but then who created God? “Oh, he was always there.” So then you are saying that something can either be created from nothing or if you can’t say that then that “something” was always there.

I am not convinced weather god is ,or is not ‘out there’,but either way this s#it is coming down and i am sure that if he is ‘out there’ he would not want us to sit back and enjoy the decline into abject poverty-slavery-death and destruction that these elites have install for us all.So take up your shoes against the NWO elites, also plant your sweet bucks[potatoes]what have you got to lose if the financial crisis doesn’t come,a sprouted potato in the bush is worth two american dollars in the hand.

I think if you the reader would see that religion is a one world system of goverance then being anti world unification under one system is going against the principals of God. Maintaining seperation and social higherarchy is your failures to realize that for humanity to advance thru moral and university you must tear down these borders barriers, walls and become equal under one flag. That is the path. Only thing your fighting is the curruption and stealthy force being applied to the movement towards it. Weather you like it or not preventing this path is selfish evil on your part. Well then im not a member of any religion but these world elite are right to become a world entity not a state rule which we have here. If you unify and creat one dominate force, police, army you can maintain peace rather then allowing rivals to go at it. Only problem here is Freedom and freewill. We are born with it and there should be no law preventing these things. Well then wallgreens societies are nearly impossible in this real world but for humanity to continue this impossibility must be made possible.

Johndoe wrote: “I think if you the reader would see that religion is a one world system of goverance then being anti world unification under one system is going against the principals of God.”
Reply: But what if the “system” of unification is an evil system whose principles are contrary to truth and goodness – to God? You correctly realize that God’s “system” is indeed universal and “global”, but you then draw the false conclusion that the current movement towards a one world government – an by extension the principles it is based upon – are in line with God’s universal “system”. You seem to think that, since God’s system is universal, a movement to any universal system is movement in the right direction That could not be farther from the truth. Indeed God does have a universal system and it built Western Civilization. It is called Christendom, and it is this system (the old world order), which the new world order is seeking to replace (and indeed has replaced). What we are moving toward is the universal system of evil, where truth and good are presented as “intolerant” and bad, and where evil is looked upon as good. It is completely upside down.

Reply: Free will is part of the “problem”, but not the only problem. What if the principles themselves of the system are bad? The masons (builders) of the new world order are the Masons; and as most people who listen to Alex Jones realize, the Masons worship Lucifer, who is the devil. The prinicples upon which their system is being constructed are evil principles. Just look at their “sacrament”, which is child sacrifice. No longer in volcanos, or bonfires, as in days past, but in the mother’s womb (and soon to be in the hospital after birth). The system is evil, but it deceives many by presenting itself under the appearance of good. Since most people today have no grasp of the truth, they are easily led astray by this appearance.

Dear Sir, the subject of a subordinate clause must be in the subjective or nominative case. It is erroneous to write or say, as you do,that a car was alleged “to cause the demise of whomever owns it.” You should say, “of whoever owns it,” the case of who/whom being governed by the subordinate clause. I write because I enjoy calling people on this one, and because a right wing writer is particularly uncreditworthy when he has bad grammar. In the best of good humor (the best I can muster under the circumstances), I am sincerely, Frank
