Israel keeps pounding Gaza on the third day of its aerial campaign as the world continues to protest the deadly blitz that has killed over 310 people.
Demonstrators marched in protest against the airstrikes in several cities around the world.
On Monday, thousands poured to the streets of the Iranian capital, Tehran, calling for an end to the massacre of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
In other Iranian cities, shopkeepers ended trade for the day, closing bazaars (traditional markets) and businesses to show their support for the Palestinian people as the demonstrations continued in Tehran.
About 8,000 people demonstrated in Egypt in the southern city of Assiut, while rallies in the capital Cairo and the port city of Alexandria drew around 4,000 each, a security official said.

In Turkey, thousands of people joined demonstrations in about a dozen cities, while in Syria, protesters burned Israeli and American flags as thousands demonstrated in central Damascus.
Traffic in central London where the Israeli embassy is located was brought to a halt by hundreds of protesters, waving Palestinian flags and placards reading “holocaust in Gaza” and shouting in unison: “Israel is a terror state”.
Organizers said some 3,000 people had taken part in Sunday’s protest, while police which arrested over 10 demonstrators put the figure at 700.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei had denounced the Israel regime and described its attacks as a ‘deliberate massacre’ of innocent and defenseless people.
Meanwhile, in Yemen, over 30,000 people gathered at a soccer stadium to express their solidarity with the suffering masses in Gaza, after watching horrific images of the attacks on their television screens the previous day, Press TV correspondent in Yemen, Roshan Mohammed Salih reported on Sunday.
In Lebanon, Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah also condemned the raids, saying that it is very unfortunate to begin the new Islamic year at a time where a huge humanitarian catastrophe has led to the martyrdom of over 300 innocent people and the injuring of over 1,500 in the Gaza Strip by Israel tanks and air strikes.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Monday urged Israel to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza as attacks on the Islamic Hamas movement entered their third day.
Latin American Countries, including Cuba, Mexico, and Venezuela, urged Israel to stop its military operations in the Gaza that started on December 27.
Canada also appealed for a halt to the violence, saying it is deeply concerned by the loss of life and the suffering sustained by all sides.
Meanwhile, Pope Benedict XVI called on the international community to spare no efforts to restore peace in Gaza.
Earlier Sunday, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband called for an ‘urgent ceasefire and immediate halt to all violence’ as people in London protested against the raids.
Japan also urged both sides to stop the use of force immediately to avoid a further escalation, Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone said in a statement.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy told Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas by telephone of his concerns about the escalating violence.
The killings continue as the US vetoed an anti-Israeli resolution sought by the UN Security Council members.
The outgoing Bush administration has also thrown its full support behind Tel Aviv, blaming Hamas for provoking the offensive by firing rockets into Israel from Gaza.
Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip say they fire rockets into Israel in retaliation for the daily Israeli attacks against them. Unlike the state-of-the-art Israeli weapons and ammunition, the home-made Qassam rockets rarely cause casualties.

No wondwer the people of the world are so disusted. The worst day’s slaughter in 40 – 60 years in Gaza, virtually unprovoked, especially given that the people of Gaza have suffered far more from the crimes of the israeli government than the people of southern Israel have suffered from the ‘rocket’ attacks.
Gaza has been under siege all through the ceasefire by the criminal Israeli government and hundreds of Gazans have died as a result. The entire population has gone with proper electricity, food supplies, medicines, a people reduced to the brink of starvation at the hands of a criminal murderous regime in israel that has systematically brainwashed its citizens into going along with and often applauding these terrible crimes.
In 3 years, 5000 rockets have been fired by Hamas and killed 16 people, in 3 days 400 have bene fired by israel and killed 320 and wounded nearly 1500, I ask you, who is the terrorist organisation??

Israel’s horribly self serving notion, one which systematically suggests a really, really absurd belief that it is justified for them, once they have unearthed criminal suspects living in, or operating out of residential neighborhoods to then murder everyone who resides within a wide proximity of such criminal element is absolutely ludicrous. The sheer insanity of Israel’s cruel and contemptuous mindset provides for the world but a small peek into the poison spirit of the people of Israel. Believe me folks, these are NOT God’s people.
Amazingly Israel not only erroneously claims it is Gods chosen people, but they obviously also believe that the rest of the world is a bunch of totally brainless idiots as well. The deranged people who support Israel’s bellicose persona cannot be the people of God whom they so often claim to be, however it has become increasingly apparent by their actions that they are instead agents of Satan the devil.
Those with any understanding of God’s Laws whatsoever know that Israel’s arrogant opposition to the spiritual principles and strict adherence to God’s Law is pretty defining. God has never provided the people of Israel an exemption. Israel has once again set aside the Ten Commandments for their own selfish benefit, stealing land from and killing their neighbors. Less fortunate neighbors who obviously lack the ability to defend themselves against Israel’s mighty American backed forces.
The monumental lie that is driven exclusively through Israeli greed and their uncompromising quest for Jewish expansion and domination in the region is that they are defending themselves from the Palestinian people. This is just not the case and the evidence proves it. The honest to goodness truth is, if Israel would immediately cease and desist the illegal occupation of Palestine, if they merely stopped harassing, intimidating, purposely degrading and murdering innocent Palestinian people there would be no logical reason for retaliation from Palestine, Hamas or any other militant group who actually see this mounting humanitarian crisis for what it really is, a Nazi style genocide!
Most people know that in this life we so often get exactly what we bargain for, both good or bad. This long proven truism even holds true where the “puffed with pride” Israeli Jews are concerned. As the currency of their murderous oppression and ungodly actions against their neighbors in Lebanon, Syria and Palestine Israel has purchased an unprecedented level of future unrest.
The barrage of retaliatory violence which will be almost certainly launched against Israel following this most recent example of illegal aggression is a derivative their own seemingly ironic foreign policies. Arrogantly defiant policies that purposely ignore both international law and the terms of the Geneva Convention treaty that restrict without legal exception the use of indiscriminate military artillery and incursion within heavily populated civilian areas. Realizing this one has to honestly wonder if the fanatics in Israel having strategic military and political decision making authority are not totally retarded.
Sadly after the current bombing campaign that has been primarily directed at civilian targets in Palestine the type of empathy and support which Israel has become so accustom to over the past sixty years will be quite limited in the years to come. After the total economical collapse of the United States of America later on this year I suspect the Arab nations will eat Israel alive and justifiably so.

Thankyou for taking the time to thoroughly nail it. Isreal cannot possibly survive with this kind of behavior. They are their own worst enemy. The tide of public opinion is turning against Isreal. There is no blaming Hitler for what is going on in Gaza. Hitler has left the building. But like the situation here in the U.S., where there are many Americans disgusted with our government’s actions around the world i.e. killing masses in Iraq, Afghanistan etc, and so there are also many folks in Isreal whom are disgusted by their government’s behavior too.
But like the U.S. which will probably not survive this latest onslaught War on Terror, Isreal too will dissapear off the face of the Earth. Or perhaps both countries will morph into something unrocognizable to constitutionalists, a facism akin to what the Jews and Isreal claim to be building against since 1947. Never again indeed huh? They should say, never again until we decide to do it outselves. So the raped has turned into the rapist. No surprises there. But alas they will in fact fail and fall, not because people like me want them to but because they are their own worst enemy and are committing suicide as we speak.

Israel used military force as a LAST RESORT to daily Hamas missile attacks into southern Israel–despite a “ceasefire”. They warned Palestinian citizens to vacate civilian areas targeted as Hamas strongholds. They are doing their best to prevent any civilian casualties. However, it is known that Hamas uses the strategy of hiding among civilians, shooting missiles from civilian areas, to make it look as though Israel is targeting civilians. For the first time in the history, an Arab country has sided with Israel. The Egyptian president agrees with Israel’s attack on Gaza, saying that not only was it Hamas that provoked Israel, but Hamas is the true obstacle to peace in the region. Even the Egyptian Foreign Minister stated that he was frustrated because it is actually HAMAS that is blocking aid from Egypt from getting to the Palestinian people. But of course, this is not broadcast in the media. It is unfortunate because even the Arab countries who truly support peace efforts, Egypt and Jordan, are being chastised in the Arab world for speaking out against Hamas, and Radical Islam. There can be no peace with terrorist organizations such Hamas, Hizbullah in Syria and Lebanon, or the Arab countries such as Iran and Syria, because they cannot stand even the existance of Israel in the region–and they are inciting violence, a call to jihad, to all the radicals/extremists-shaids– in the Muslim world against Israel. Meanwhile, Iran with the help of the Russians, are working tirelessly to create a nuke, so that they can use it on Israel, asap. This would cause the 2nd Holocaust. Ahmadinejad has stated on several occasions that this was his goal, his mission in life, and this is what the muslim world is waiting for. No other religion except Radical Islam has incited so much violence in the modern world. From suicide bombings, to jihad, to violent protests against cartoons, books written about Mohammed. The world needs to wake up to this. Please watch the movie, The Third Jihad. in my lifetime I have experienced BOTH arabs AND jews on a private basis, and the result is as follows:
arabs have shared their last soup and piece of bread with me, although we were very different , whilst JEWS tried to grab my LAST dollars from me ( though I DIDNT LET THEM, haha!)
