This is the combat robot Russia is hoping will soon replace its soldiers, or so goes the hype. Still, very impressive, mildly terrifying.

There is no avoiding it, the US Airforce ordered more drone aircraft than jets for next year. Battles will soon be fought with the help of robotic firepower and surveillance, more-so than now I mean. Robots can be MUCH more efficient at their job than a human, why WOULDNT they pursue using them as technology progressed?

Granted, I never said this was a good thing…

    3. Jay Barracus Says:

This Robot looks unprofessional and cheap, it seems to be build with off-the-shelves hardware and the joysticks are standard PC-Game Joysticks. This seems to be the attempt by some small company to get a contract with the military but i am sure the Russians have far more impressive technology like this.

      tyler durden Reply:

It looks really cheap. 1 50 cal. armor piercing round through the drive train and it’s immobile. 1 more round through each gun and “charlie down”.

Then all you have to do is follow the wire leading back to the Russians and…game over.

It is a university research project – Robot Technology Bureau, Bauman Moscow State University.

Reminds me of the autonomous vehicle race that involved a 25-mile course through the desert. The defense companies chose to use 4×4 off-road vehicles. One university chose a bicycle along with a teddy-bear mascot.

    4. Its a Joke Says:

I agree. It is top heavy, looks very unstable. The track system is a joke. It has all kinds of loose play in the weapons riser. Very “creaky”.

Off the shelf parts. There is no way this thing could go through the woods or rough terrain, anything more than a showroom floor.

Not impressed by this particular unit at all.

      Patriotgal Reply:

Agreed- this thing is a joke. I have a better, ancient DOD “bomb disposal” unit in my museum, and it was DRMO’d 8 years ago. I could assemble something better in my shop, over a weekend.

    5. Omaxpi Says:

The governments have tech that is 50-100 years ahead of what we ever see. Sorry, but this sort of reporting is of no consequence. Some stupid remote controlled tank is NOT news.

The real powers behind the government criminals have devices straight out of a SCI-FI movie.

This is just a slightly bigger newer model built from ground up in Russia that is very similar to the American one used in Iraq and Afghanistan. American’s are using theirs now for disabling roadside bombs or checking inside homes for ambushes and booby traps. The Russian one can peak out holes and has a wider track base. Regardless of the couch warriors comments it isn’t a piece of s---. The American model already saved countless lives and now Russia wants to take this route of reducing casualties is commendable. This version in the video is a prototype as well.

The headline says, “World War V : Robot Vs Robot.”

We will never see WW V. When they’ve finished with the next one it will be Armageddon.

Re 19:11 ¶ And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
      17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Unless you want to call this WW V.

Re 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Like all of the latest Russian technology, it will be operating on a 1 Kb harddrive and vaccum tubes. Love the ‘chunky button’ stylings: like a 70s porn movie.

Get real: the stuff we were doing for DARPA was on another planet to this stuff. Go watch Iron Man: you might get the idea.

    15. BGko Says:

LOL, stupid. All that needs to be done is dropping some kind of ionizing bomb that disturbs all electric systems in the area and your robot army will be useless within seconds.

    19. Platoonan Says:

Push it over? If you could get close enough without it blowing your head off, it would be like extreme cow tipping. It would have to have close infantry support to recover it if it fell in a ditch or ran out of battery. You wouldn’t want that arsenal falling into the wrong hands. Is it fitted with a self destruct? Suicide robot.

    20. seanbritania Says:

Don’t worry about all these silly things, they are like the .com bubble and they struggle to get to the real customer in any shape or form – they are more of a let’s rob investors out of loads of money; then over promise and under deliver.

EMP weapons would turn these into scrap so the local tinkers and gypsies would be rubbing their hands.

The real most deadly weapon on the planet is the

      “HUMAN BEING”

    21. Christian Says:

Air Craft can lock on to that signal or specific electronic signature, and then blow the s--- out of the control hub. Also, the best weapon against tech is no tech at all… (IE) look at Iraq and Afghanistan.

      They call it Jovonish 5.

Mount a gun on a remote controlled car and call it a robot? Hmmm try again Russia. If you give high school kids rockets and automatic machine guns i bet dollars to donuts 12th graders in Texas could make something a bit more treating than that.

HEY…this guy stole my kids radio control 4X4 and screwed some LAW rockets to it, bastard, Santa will NOT be coming by your house this year!!!!

Now THIS is a robot, and it was developed over three years ago, just think of how the military has advanced it after they got their hands on it!

      junk

    29. kyle Says:

lol that is the worst thing iv seen put out, pretty cool but, thats junk im sorry. f--- all this military grabage, people making billions of this nich market, called war. you have bombs that could kill us, all wtf makes this so special.

    30. bootroll Says:

None of these so-called robots, even the ones from Japan, are real robots, they are just elaborate remote controlled machines like the cars or boats fathers buy their little boys. How can they get away with calling a remote controlled divice a robot? Without an operator at the controls the machine can’t do anything. Even Big Dog has a load of people walking along with it!

    31. Cautious about this Says:

Don’t like how new terminator movie is coming out & this site has had 2 robotic related military articles in as many days.
Seems sensationalist, like tailoring the site to plug into current trends & cause panic
Usually this site offers very good informative articles & information, but this is not the first time I have noticed this tactic.

The robot is crap, knocked over it becomes useless. The walking robot was intriging, but highly unstable on the top mount, any weapon attached would have a hard job being accurate.

    32. one way adult link exchange Says:
