WWF Resorts To Deception In Climate Fearmongering
Misleading image fails to depict substantial Arctic sea ice growth during 2008

Global warming fearmongers the World Wildlife Fund have been caught in a new act of deception after citing shrinking Arctic ice coverage to suggest climate change is “faster and more extreme” than first thought, while failing to acknowledge that Arctic sea ice expanded over an area bigger than the size of Germany during the year of 2008.
“The Arctic Ocean is losing sea ice 30 or more years ahead of the projections presented in the Fourth Assessment Report (Stroeve et al, 2007). There is near consensus in the Arctic scientific community that significant aspects of this hastened loss of sea ice are caused by feedback mechanisms, the effects of which had been severely underestimated in the report,” states the WWF report.
The graphic depiction used to illustrate the point in a London Telegraph article shows Arctic sea ice coverage between 1979 and 2007 and a clear reduction in ice coverage.
The report’s author, geoscientist Dr Tina Tin told CNN: “Arctic sea ice is melting much faster than everybody had been expecting.
The problem with this statement, as well as using a 2007 satellite image to illustrate the point, is that Arctic sea ice coverage massively expanded during 2008 by a whopping 30 per cent – an area bigger than the size of Germany.
According to collated data from the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and the University of Illinois, Arctic ice extent was 30 per cent greater on August 11, 2008 than it was on the August 12, 2007. This is a conservative estimate based on the map projection.
The 30 per cent increase coincided with a record low in sunspot activity over the same period, again proving that climate change is driven by natural catalysts as it has been throughout history.

“Sunspot counts are at a 50-year low,” says solar physicist David Hathaway of the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. “We’re experiencing a deep minimum of the solar cycle.”
Which is why we are seeing evidence of natural global cooling all over the planet – Alaskan glaciers growing for the first time in 250 years, unprecedented ice storms in Kenya, China experiencing its coldest winter in 100 years, many parts of the U.S. suffering their coldest April on record along with record snowfall, Britain suffering its coldest Easter in decades, Sydney Australia suffering its coldest summer in 50 years.
All the evidence is screaming out that the planet has now embarked on a cooling trend to follow the natural warming trend that caused Arctic ice to shrink in the first place, just as natural global warming caused Greenland to be green thousands of years ago when it was a lush forest and when temperatures were on average 5 °C (9 °F) higher than today.
For the WWF and the London Telegraph to use 2007 data and completely discount a gigantic 30 per cent increase in Arctic sea ice coverage from August 2007 to August 2008 is not only misleading, it is completely dishonest and atypical of the politicized agenda-driven global warming lobby.
The deception has echoes of the “stranded polar bear” hoax when global warming alarmists attempted to use an emotional photograph of “stranded polar bears” to convince people that global warming was melting ice caps and wiping out cute cuddly animals. The fact that the photos were taken in summer, when ice caps naturally melt, that the polar bears were close to the shore, and the fact that polar bears can swim a distance of around a hundred miles at a time, was not pointed out.

I agree climate change is the least of our worries when it comes to pollution etc. However, there are big problems with pollution of rivers and habitat that will throw off the balance of life. Think about things like the disappearance of bees which is already starting to happen, which will have disastrous consequences for all flowers and other plant life. And the disappearance of salmon.

Deny all you like. Either the world is warming up or it isn’t; we’re possibly a cause or we aren’t. I like to stick with simple facts anyone can observe. Like smog increasing in cities. Like more people with lung diseases such as asthma or emphysema. Like acid rain “melting” away our architecture and statuary. Like the funky poisonous algae that shows up now and then on the shore that never did before. Like people dying from things like e. coli and listeria because we aren’t cleaning up after ourselves. Like globally rising water levels.
It doesn’t matter if you can scientifically prove one way or the other about global warming; if we’re screwed, we better have a plan for survival. If we can do anything to help ourselves, wouldn’t that make more sense than shouting down the possibility the we might even be causing our own issues? I don’t want to sound like a “tree hugger” but living in harmony with the ebb and flow of the planet seems to make a lot more sense than continuing as we are, oblivious to the effects of our own reckless industry.

I think the proper word choice should have been “typical of …” as ‘atypical’ means not common with or normally associated with. The ‘a’ prefixing typical or any adjective, adverb, etc “negates” the original meaning of the root word used ( ‘a + …’ = no, or not … [from old Greek lang.] )

The other thing I would like to mention is that Google.com appears to be helping with the gross deception on its GoogleEarth site by showing image maps of a similarly-’shrinking’ ice mass on the North Pole region. My word!!! You can’t even trust GoogleEarth for accurate images!!!

If one goes to Antarctica using http://www.nodedb.com and then clicks Satellite or Hybrid view, then if one navigates to “Marguerite Bay” Antarctica, Latitude 68 South, Longitude 67 West, (use an atlas), then if one zooms in to 20 kilometers per inch resolution, one will see that there is no ice visible at that location in Antarctica and that lush Green Grass is growing everywhere.
If one moves to 74 South 162 East, (Antarctica) one will see no ice at that location and green grass growing.
Similar with Greenland now growing grass. Greenland was never Green in the past, it was called Greenland because it was covered in ice and no one would go there because there was no green there, just ice. Greenland is much colder than Iceland.

Cold air can not hold much moisture, so as the air gets warmer, snow fall increases because now the air is warmer, it can hold extra moisture, and so precipitation increases, snow fall increases. If it gets colder, snowfall decreases.

Krakatoa volcano – last erupted 27 August 1883 a.d. throwing more “greenhouse gases” into the atmosphere than mankind in its entire history. In the following 3 years temperatures actually DROPPED a bit.
Santorini volcano – last erupted around 1600 b.c. producing even more “greenhouse gases” than Krakatoa (and it erupted several times) Well, hello! We are still here! nothing happened !

CO2 levels are much higher today than they were after the Krakatoa eruption.
Methane is being released from frozen ground in Siberia and that did not happen after the Krakatoa eruption. Methane breaks down to CO2 in an energy releasing, exothermic reaction. Methane releases heat into the atmosphere as it breaks down whereas CO2 does not. Methane is 28 times more potent greenhouse gas than CO2. It traps heat 28 timers better than CO2.
CO2 levels are the highest in 100,000 years. 500 Million years ago there were even higher CO2 levels and it was lot hotter that time, sea levels were much higher at that time.

Let’s say all the ice in the world melts. Ok great, so what does that MEAN?
One might say, “AHH! Its global warming, look all the ice is gone you idiots! AHHH!!!”
But the “cold”, hard fact remains, the TEMPERATURE is going DOWN, NOT UP, DOWN.
So if the temperature is going DOWN, and all the ice in the world melts, one might have to use the ole noggin and perhaps ask, “Could there be ANOTHER reason that ice melts BESIDES warmer temperature?”
That MIGHT be a good question to ask.
BTW, the temperature IS going down, and there ARE many reasons ice melts besides the elementary school logistics of “warmer temperature”.

No, what the article is saying is that 5 celcius increments is approximately equal to 9 fahrenheit increments.
ie.) 0 celcius (32 °F) + 5 degrees (9 °F) = 5 celcius (41 °F)

Over the past 20-25 years or so I have read reports on global warming and I have alway’s felt that it is part of a natural cycle…I’ve been wrong many times before.
Yes, ice melts if the temperature rises above the freezing point 0 deg C and melts faster the higher the temperature rises. There have been countless reports of ice loss from peoples living in the polar regeions amongst others, so it is evident that there has been a rise of temperature. Who or what has/is caused/causing this ? who really knows for sure, but we’ll probably find out sooner or later, but in the mean time, a reduction in C02 and toxic emitions and a move toward clean ones doesn’t sound like such a bad idea.
Who/what caused the depletion/regeneration of the ozone layer ????? it doesn’t seem to be an issue anymore, was the reduction of the use of chlorofluorocarbons a good or bad idea ?

All you guys are great. Just the fact that you are not sheep and actually reading and learning about what the evil of the world is planning is amazing. What would be more amazing is if some of you actually opened yours eyes further than just recognising the evil of this world and their doings to recognising where the truth and the good in this world is.
Please look into Islam, I would think being the educated and logical creation you are, that unbiasly you would come to the equation that. Evil (US government etc) hates and takes Islam as its main enemy, HENCE Islam = Good. Im not talking about muslims, ofcourse you will have good and bad, what im talking about is ISLAM in its puriest form as it was handed down to mankind and still uncurrupted and easily available to everyone.
Look into the Qu’ran which is a protect source of scripture as it was given to every prophet/messenger/messiah who walked the earth, and compiled together as one book promised by the almighty to be kept pure and unchanged by man until judgment day. Please open your hearts further to not only recognise the evil enemy but Islam as the saviour of mens souls and deliverance to the almighty creator call him “GOD”, “Allah” or our creator/designer.
