Louder With Crowder
July 28, 2017
There was a free speech hearing in Congress today. You may not have heard about it. It has nothing to do with Russia. It had nothing directly to do with Donald Trump, so he didn’t tweet about it. There were also no cats doing cat things. Ergo video of it wasn’t circulating on the book of faces. But people testified about the war on free speech on college campuses (see Ted Cruz Slams Wimpy College Students Trying to Shut Down Free Speech and Vice News Reports On Leftist Students Running Evergreen College). We already covered our friend Ben Shapiro bringing the pain. Now here’s Adam Carolla bringing the noise.
Also, the funny.
“We’re talking a lot about kids, and I think they’re just that—kids. We are the adults and we need to act like it. These are 18- and 19-year-old kids that grew up dipped in Purell playing soccer games where they never kept score and watching Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!, and we’re asking them to be mature. We need the adults to start being the adults.”
Carolla’s point is generally lost. We blame the whiny Millennials because they’re easy targets. Also because anytime we make any kind of comment about “Millennials are snowflakes” a blizzard of Millennials bitch about how they’re not snowflakes. Usually in the most triggered, whiny, entitled way. Thanks, guys.
But Carolla (and many Millennials) are right about this one: it’s the adults letting them get away with this crap who are to blame. Sometimes those “adults” were the parents of these Millennial snowflakes who told baby Skylar his/her whole life how special she/he was without actually having earned the compliment. Then shuffled Skylar off to daycare while mommy went to work, even before mommy divorced daddy. Yeah, Millennials got shafted. Okay? Okay.
So then Skylar skips over to college to get its degree in dance theory, and all the adults there act just like ze’s parents: smothering Skylar with praise it doesn’t deserve. Then the world wonders why these “adult” students have all the integrity of play-doh. Real mystery all around. Someone call CSI.
Step up, adults. You know better.
