The ISIS terrorist group is “very much a threat to the United States” and its allies former Vice President Dick Cheney said on Fox News’ “Hannity” Wednesday.
“After watching this [beheading] video, I’m pretty convinced that we have a group of people at war with us,” host Sean Hannity said. “Would you agree with that?”
Cheney agreed, saying that the beheading of American photojournalist James Foley by the Islamic State terrorists was a tragic development, but there is surely more to come.
“Magnify that a million times over because that’s what’s in store for the rest of the world if we don’t deal effectively with this crisis,” he said. “I think the danger’s enormous. I don’t think the president understands it.”
Obama is discovering that his worldview is flawed, Cheney said, and there is a growing gap between what the president hopes for the world and what the reality is.
“Every day, we find more evidence that he would rather be on the golf course than dealing with the crisis that is developing rapidly in the Middle East,” the former vice president said.
Cheney explained that people around the world view the president as weak and ineffective.
“I am absolutely certain that someday there will be another mass casualty attack against the United States, only next time they will have far deadlier weapons.”
