Police were investigating five acts of vandalism against black churches in Morris Township, New Jersey, over the weekend as hate crimes until they discovered the man responsible was also black.

Zuri C. Towns, 45, was arrested Sunday night wearing the same clothes he was wearing in surveillance footage that caught him hurling a rock at one of the churches on Saturday. He confessed to smashing windows and church signs at five churches all within a mile of his home. Towns attended one of the churches he targeted as a child.

Shortly after reports of the alleged hate crime, New Jersey Governor-elect Phil Murphy (D) took to Twitter to speak about unity: “Disgusted by reported vandalism of African-American churches across Morristown. These cowardly acts will not shake our faith. They will renew our determination to come together as one NJ.”

Morristown Mayor Timothy Dougherty said, “We take this very seriously, and all resources are being deployed to make sure all services that take place today, that there are no problems.”

Amazingly, news report about the story failed to mention the race of the criminal, which is rather important to point out. Let the race hoaxes continue:
