Sen. Kamala Harris’ media blitz ahead of her likely 2020 presidential run has already gotten off to a disastrous start.

During an interview Wednesday with CNN’s Jake Tapper, the California Democrat was asked about reports that indicated she was not aware of a recent harassment settlement involving one of her top advisers.

Harris responded by implying that her office was too big to notice that one of her top aides had been sexually harassing people.

She also did not issue an actual apology to the alleged victims or for her lack of leadership on the issue, but rather acted as if she was the victim by saying the “experience” was “very painful” for her.

“You were a leader of the #MeToo movement, you were very vocal on the Senate Judiciary Committee during Kavanaugh,” Tapper said. “An unfortunate thing happened on your staff, which is one of your top aides had to resign a few weeks ago, Larry Wallace.”

“Right,” Harris said, nodding her head in agreement.

Tapper then detailed how Wallace helped Harris run the California Department of Justice when she served as the state’s Attorney General.

“As somebody who is a leader of the #MeToo movement, how did this happen and you didn’t know about it?” Tapper pressed. “And what did you learn about it given that it kind of struck close to home?”

Harris said it was a “very painful experience” for her, playing up the victim card, and suggested her office simply had too many employees — “almost 5,000” — for her to notice.

While Democrats claim to be the leaders of the #MeToo movement, several of their top potential top 2020 candidates have been plagued with issues of sexual harassment.

Last week, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that he was “a little bit busy” to notice that several women experienced sexual harassment while working for his 2016 presidential campaign.

“Just to be clear, you seemed to indicate that you did not know at the time about the allegations. Is that correct?”Cooper asked.

“Uh, yes,” Sanders responded. “I was a little bit busy running around the country, trying to make the case.”

Harris’ media tour this week has been packed with controversial comments.

During an appearance Tuesday on ABC’s “The View,” the California Democrat attacked President Donald Trump, brushed off the Muslim lawmaker who referred to the president as a “motherf*cker,” and said she thinks Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s proposed 70 percent tax hikeon wealthy Americans is “fantastic.”

Later in the segment, Harris defended Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., who last week called on her congressional colleagues to “impeach the motherf*cker,” referring to Trump.

“Honestly, my candid response is that she’s not the first nor will she be the last elected person to curse in public,” Harris said.

“People are feeling very passionate right now in our country, and they’re expressing those views in a variety of ways. I also do believe that in the passion what we also do have to check, as a separate matter, is that there are also very right now powerful voices in our country that are sowing hate and division among us. And we also need to check that,” Harris added, with the crowd applauding her completely deflecting and making it all Trump’s fault.

Harris’ radical ideas and anti-Trump positions aren’t surprising, especially given this is the same woman who recently compared the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to the Ku Klux Klan.

Before that, she came under fire for refusing on 10 separate occasions to say whether she believes a “convicted felon” should be allowed to serve in the U.S. Senate.

She also wasn’t asked by anyone on Tuesday about The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust ranking her as one of the Worst Ethics Violators of 2018.
