Greek police have arrested a man in his 30s after he was found with 50 migrants in his van.

Police spotted the vehicle on a motorway and asked the driver to stop, but he sped away. After a police chase, he was caught and his human cargo emptied.

30 of them were from Syria, 19 were from Iraq and 1 came from Afghanistan.

Those inside apparently paid €1,500 each to be transported into Greece, according to police, who also caught another man driving 10 refugees into the country on Friday.

The refugee crisis hasn’t gone away. The number of refugees coming into Greece via Turkey has risen by 200% in the months since August.

Until the EU’s open door policy comes to an end, thousands of people are going to continue arriving on the continent – they could be anyone, ISIS are known to have infiltrated refugee groups.
