Louder With Crowder

Most people know Bryan Callen from The Goldbergs. He plays the gym teacher. Generally likes torching kids with dodge ball.
But he’s also been hitting the podcast circuit for a while. Some LwC readers may be familiar with Callen on The Fighter and The Kid. He also made a recent appearance on Joe Rogan Experience. They had a conversation about inequality that echos a sentiment we often discuss here.
Before we get to the main reason I’ve gathered you all here today, Callen has a bit about religion being responsible for great deal of unification. I found it interesting:
Here’s the good stuff.
What’s really amazing is how we all strive not to be equal. We all want to be better than everyone else, but it’s a really nice starting point.
Inequality is not a bad thing. What’s the difference between being an American and a Communist? An American believes in equality of opportunity. I’m not saying that we have that, but that would be the goal. Then there’s “equality of outcome.” The only way to have equality of outcome is to keep down the people who work harder, are smarter, and are more talented. You have to make everybody equal. That, to me, is a fundamental evil. That’s my problem with Marxism. The only way to do that is with force.
Clips like this are a reason I find JRE so valuable in the first place. You hear a lot of different ideas, including some things you agree with (see Video: Joe Rogan Drops Bomb on Political Tribalism and WATCH: Joe Rogan Perfectly Dismantles Socialism, Hypocrite Bernie Sanders). However, you hear it from people outside of the usual echo chamber.
Callen is a perfect example. How many would expect a featured actor from a high rated network show to speak out AGAINST communism?
Speaking of JRE…
