|North Korea boasts it can strike U.S. targets worldwide

SEOUL - A North Korean official told a French news agency his country is capable of striking U.S. targets anywhere in the world and could retaliate if attacked.
It was North Korea's response to the United Nations nuclear agency referring the country to the UN Security Council for violating nuclear non-proliferation accords.
The senior foreign ministry official suggested the Security Council should investigate Washington's own nuclear record.
Ri Kwang Hyok accused the U.S. of threatening North Korea and said the country has the right to defend itself.
South Korea called on its northern neighbour to resolve the nuclear crisis while there's still time.
On Wednesday, CIA director George Tenet told a Senate armed services committee North Korea possesses a long-range missile capable of reaching the west coast of the U.S.
