What is wrong with Nancy Pelosi?
During her tag team press conference with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer against President Trump’s tax reform proposal on Tuesday, the House Minority Leader seemed to think Florida and New York were on the West Coast, flubbed several words and mispronounced a California colleague’s name.
She attempted to denounce the proposal by nearly saying it would amount to a tax “cut” — only to catch herself and say “hike.”
While talking about events being organized by liberal groups against the plan, Pelosi said, “Events were held on the injustices of this tax bill.
“Up and down the West Coast — from New York to Florida — members and candidates, uh, uh—” she said suffering an apparent brain freeze. “People, just the people turned out,” she finished.
Moments later, she mispronounced “frightened.”
“As I say, Tuesday’s elections faintened (sic) Republicans. Speaker Ryan is about to brand them the most, uh, what some of their most vulnerable suburban members with a huge middle income tax cu— hike,” almost mistakenly saying “cut.”
Seconds later, she mispronounced the name of one of her California congressional colleagues, saying Tom “McClintack,” before correcting herself and reading “McClintock” from her notes.
Pelosi struggled to remember Trump Economic Advisor Gary Cohn’s job.
“What’s his title?” she asked Schumer.
“Well, whatever it is, it’s a big-deal title,” she declared, before coughing through her statement.
She appeared to suffer a brain glitch trying to say “few.”
Pelosi concluded her remarks by apparently admitting, more than a year after the election, she still can’t seem to accept Donald Trump as president.
“President Trump,” she said, before turning to Schumer and murmuring, “It’s hard for me to say those two words in a row.”
At least that’s an improvement over the numerous times she’s referred to Trump as George W. Bush.
