President Donald Trump predicted on Thursday that a new blueprint for replacing the Obamacare medical insurance overhaul law will be in place ‘next week or shortly thereafter.’
‘The plan gets better and better and better, and it’s gotten really, really good. And a lot of people are liking it a lot,’ he said during a joint press conference with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni.
‘We have a good chance of getting it soon. I’d like to say next week, but it will be – I believe we’ll get it,’ Trump predicted.
Rumors swirled through Washington on Thursday that the administration and the Republican-led Congress could be just a week away from a renewed showdown over the repeal-and-replace demise of the Obamacare law.
But by the time Trump and Gentiloni took their places behind a pair of podiums in the Wast Room of the White House, the promise of a vote materializing soon seemed to be little more than legislative smoke.
