A Somalian refugee has been charged with five counts of attempted murder after a man with a ISIS flag in a car in Edmonton, Canada drove at pedestrians and stabbed a police officer.
The man police have charged, Abdulahi Hasan Sharif, has been investigated before for promoting extremism.
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau made clear that he believe it was a “terrorist” attack and “another example of the hate that we must remain ever vigilant against”.
It came on the same day as a horrific attack in France that saw two women stabbed to death by an attacker apparently screaming ‘Allahu Akbar’.
