Campus Reform’s Joshua Aminov visited Rutgers University to ask students if saying “Merry Christmas” is offensive, and whether “Happy Holidays” should be used instead.
A few students had an issue with saying “Merry Christmas.”
“I think it’s kind of weird just to say Merry Christmas,” one student said.
But while “Merry Christmas” seemed acceptable to most students, students called for the use of “Happy Holidays” in the classroom and on campus to “be inclusive.”
“I think saying Happy Holidays is a way more inclusive way to incorporate all the different holidays,” another student argued.
“There’s so many religions and practices that saying Merry Christmas may be a little too closed,” a different student agreed.
