House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Tuesday the formal launch of an impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump.
To find out what college students think of this news, Campus Reform‘s Cabot Phillips headed to Marymount University in Virginia to ask students whether Trump should be impeached, and if so, for what actions.
Campus Reform quickly found universal support for Trump’s impeachment. But students had trouble pinpointing any basis for impeachment.
“Absolutely,” one student enthusiastically said, before adding “that’s a great thing.”
“Umm, I’m sure there’s reasons that I don’t know of, but I have not seen one certain reason to like impeach him,” one student conceded, while another said “I don’t know if I can say any specific event of action.”
Another student quickly retreated, saying “well, I’m not really that into politics, I don’t pay that much attention to it.”
One student after strongly supporting impeachment said “Umm, honestly I think it’s just umm, like how popular he is. And so even though [he’s] popular and poppin’ right now, it’s not good for America.”
