Louder With Crowder

The other week, we talked about an embarrassing video that hobbled its way out of the bowels of MTV. You know the one (see Pompous MTV Demands White Men Abide by These New Year’s Resolutions). Turns out they’ve since deleted the clip after some heavy backlash. Surprise! Not everyone was super duper impressed by their lineup of beta males and feminist seacows. Speaking of which, Joe Rogan was one such non-impressed dude. Listen to his take on it below…

“The best way to stop racism is to be racist towards people who you think are racist.”

“What a ridiculous idea that you can be condescending about someone being condescending, and that somehow is going to work.”

“All the thought behind making a video like this is exactly why Trump got elected.”

Rogan makes a good point here. MTV’s video is/was tailored to a very specific audience. Hence the clip’s litany of grievous grunts from frumpy dumplings. Clearly, this was meant to be something social justice warriors could relate to exclusively. And by doing so? They simultaneously managed to alienate and vilify a huge portion of the population. Thus the network failed to get the response they wanted. Unless it was upchucking. In which case, job well done, MTV.

The video sought to fight against racism by being waaay racist. The irony. It’s not the first time MTV missed the point (see MTVNews Morons Claim Hillary’ll Finally Stop ‘Systemic Lynching of Black People!’).

Were any hearts or minds changed by MTV’s bitter display of he-ladies and buffet slayers? Methinks not. In fact, it did quite the opposite. It’s the perfect summation of the trifling attitude that cost the left this recent election (see Trump Won Because ‘Racism’? NO, YOU IDIOT!!). The cherry on top? The network ended up deleting the video. Then reuploading it. Then deleting it again. MTV, as in ‘My Super Sweet 16’ MTV – who knows zero shame – couldn’t take the heaps of backlash. Yeah, leveling baseless character attacks on an entire race and gender tend to spark that reaction…
